Finally Fall!

This is the first really fall I have enjoyed since moving Utah about 6 years ago.  Northern California had some beautiful fall colors, but nothing like fall colors here.

Since a raccoon got our first bird feeder and bit it to pieces, and we do like to watch the birds and squirrels, we decided to get another feeder.  We got this one at a yard sale for $1!  We have gotten a lot of entertainment for that $1.

We hung the feed a little higher this time in hopes that the raccoon wouldn't get it.  Once the squirrels realized the free food was back they quickly started looking for the best way to access it.

FALL COLORS

These are some of the fall colors around our neighborhood.

Trees at the end of the street.

In the school parking lot...

in the car line.

More around the neighborhood.

These next ones are from off our back porch.

From my bedroom window.

We have enjoyed the fall colors since the beginning of October and the colors are finally coming to an end.  We look forward to next years display!

What a Boy!

Bradley was awarded the "Outstanding Effort Award" for the first quarter of school.

This award is given to kids who complete all their school work to the best of their ability and in a timely manner.  Unfortunately he was home from school that day because he had strep throat, but he was excited to see the certificate and the ribbon.

Happy Birthday!!

Happy 1st Birthday Eliza Marie!
It is hard to believe that it was a year ago that Eliza joined our family.  She has been a very sweet addition.  She has a special relationship with everyone in the family and is adored by all.
It has been a lot of fun watching the boys interact with her.  They are so patient and kind to her.  I hope they will continue to have this special relationship forever!

Good morning Birthday Girl!

Time to do presents!

Her first doll!

Cake Time...

Since we have had some sickness this last week we made it clear that Mom was the only one who could help Eliza with her candle.

Eliza's cake...the boys helped pick out the decor.

[Notice the bracelet from Aunt Andrea.]

Eliza removing her clippy.  She won't leave them in.

Eliza enjoying her carrot cake and cream cheese frosting.

In all honesty she preferred the frosting!

"Um!"

She is such a dainty eater!  She uses her fingers and doesn't make much of a mess on her face.  The floor around her chair is a different story most of the time!

A Trip To Utah

THE FLIGHT

We went to Utah for a few days the end of October.  The kids and I flew into Denver where we met up with Janna and Abby for the flight to Salt Lake.  It was great to see them since I was ready to sell a couple kids by the time we reached Denver.  We had forgotten the crayons, so we couldn't color, the seat belt sign was on 80% of the time, and it was a 3 1/2 flight!  Luckily Aunt Janna helped entertain on the second leg and I made it with all three kids.  Once we got off the plane, used the bathroom, and got our luggage we had quite the train.

My purse, diaper bag and carry-on where on the stroll with Eliza in it.  I was dragging the two blue suite cases with Daniel on them, and Janna was pushing the cart with her luggage while juggling four car seats, and keeping track of Abby!  It was quite the experience.

VISITING GREAT GRANDMA M.

The next day we saw Uncle Keith when we went to see Grandma M.

Abby visiting with Grandma during her lunch.
We visited with Grandma for a while and then let her rest while we had a picnic and went to see Aunt Bethany's new ponies.

This is Uncle Dale's donkey that Beth is trying to help him sell.

This is one of Beth's ponies.  The other one is slightly bigger and about the same coloring.  The ponies are brothers.

This is Donut and his mom.  The kids just loved him.  If we had had more time we would have let them ride the mom, but we were on a schedule.

Donut acts just  like a big dog!

After seeing the ponies we went back to see Great Grandma M.

90 YEARS OF LOVE & DEDICATION
Great Grandma K and Andrea share the same birthday.  Grandma turned 90 this year!
We went to the Manti Temple and did a session.  There were about 50 family member on or participating in the session.  It was wonderful to see so many cousins that I haven't seen for a long long time.
We all got together for lunch and a short program to honor Grandma K.

"Where's the food!"

Yes, this is a pregnant Jessie.  She is still pretty cute.

BIRTHDAY DINNER

Since Andrea's actually birthday was pretty busy celebrating 90 years of love, service and devotion of our Grandma, we had Andrea's birthday dinner on Sunday.  It was pretty good if I do say so myself.

WOOD CUTTING WITH GRANDPA

My Dad made this log splitter.  He knew what he wanted it to do and made it from spare parts.  It definitely makes splitting the logs go much faster!  Bradley & Daniel were very excited to help.

Bradley helped load the wood into the truck after it was split.

Eliza enjoyed the fresh air while supervising from a safe distance on the back lawn.

Abby, the dog, made sure Eliza was safe.  She kept a close watch until Malea whistled her over.

Daniel and Bradley helping Aunt Malea load the truck.
They did three truck loads of wood that afternoon.  Everyone was amazed at how long Bradley and Daniel stuck with the wood hauling job.  They are such good helpers!
[They must get their work ethic from their mom.]

We enjoyed seeing everyone especially our Grandmas.  We are grateful we didn't pass any germs on since Bradley fevered off and on the whole trip.  We hope you got enough wood to stay warm this winter Grandpa!!
