Piano and Playgroup

December 7, 2015
The kids had a Christmas Piano Recital at our community center.  It was fun to hear them play and to see how much they have progressed.

Daniel was first.  He played "O Christmas Tree" and did very well.

Eliza was next.  We left her piano book in Texas over Thanksgiving.  We found a different book and she played Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star after only practicing for two days.  She was nervous, but did great for her first piano recital.

Bradley was the last in our family to play.  He played Hark The Harold Angels Sing.

This picture says it all!

The pianist for the evening.

We have had such good weather that we were able to do a playgroup at the park.
Deso and Nathan
This is a full sized poodle.  He is super nice and Nathan loved playing with him.

Josh with some twins.  These two are about two months older than him.  They were preemies and are still working on some of the same milestones as Josh.  He can actually sit better than these two cuties.

It was fun to watch the babies interact.

Nathan the monkey on the slide.

Christmas On The Water

Every year during the first part of December the Gulf Coast has a Christmas boat parade.   People plan all year for how they want to decorate their boats.  It was really neat to see the lights shining on the water as the boats floated past us.

This boat has four large blow up decorations on top.

We had friends in the parade.  This is their sail boat.  The bottom lights changed color.

The boats with numbers were competing for some prize.  Not all the boats in the parade were competing for a prize though.

There were some really creatively decorated boats.

On the way back to the car we got a picture of the light house all decorated for Christmas.

Then we stopped by a couple houses in the neighborhood that went all out on the decorations.

This Rudolf was TALL!

The kids thought the lights were really neat.

We also found the Grinch!  He was stealing a single strand of lights.  It was super cute and so simple!!  I may have to use this idea some time. :)

Christmas Concert 2015

Dec. 3, 2015
The elementary school did a Christmas program for all the families.  Each grade prepared a couple songs and there were a few piano and vocal solos in between.

The stage looked great.

The auditorium was packed!

Bradley was first preforming a plate version of the "March" from the Nutcracker.

The Kindergarten performed in the middle of the program.

Santa made an appearance during their songs.

Eliza was a little nervous about singing in front of some many  people.  They did a great job.

Third grade was towards the end.  Daniel is in the center on the back row.

They sang a southern Christmas song.

It talks about the birth of baby Jesus.

The fifth grade performed again at the very end.

It was a fun finger snapping tune.

On the way home we drove past the Lights in the park. It was just getting over when we stopped.  Luckily we were able to see Santa really quickly.  Josh did great for his first time seeing Santa.

They all got candy canes and a toy.

We got a quick picture with Frosty the Snowman on our way back to the car.
Nathan saw the Grinch when we pulled in, but he must have gone to change because we couldn't find him for a picture.  We'll have to try again next year.
