R is for Rorie!

Eliza and Rorie
Last week Aunt Meghan and our cousin Rorie came to visit us.  We had a lot of fun with them.  We played a lot, went to the park, to a museum, a farm, and a couple historic sites.

Rorie was very attached to her stroller.  She kept a very close eye on it.

At the Park

We learned that Rorie is a little monkey.  She climbs on everything and is very good at it.

Eliza had something in her mouth most of the time.

Rorie and Daniel on a twist toy at the playground.
These are some cute kids!

Eliza loves the slide and I love her hair when she gets to the bottom.

Strawberry Farm

This picture is for Grandpa Shirley...there are cows here!

Rorie, Bradley and Daniel heading to the fields to pick fresh strawberries.

Rorie was an excellent picker.  She is quick and finds really red ones!

Bradley is...well...cute!
He is a great strawberry picker as well.

Daniel is a very serious picker even though he doesn't look too serious in this picture.

Eliza just picks everything, red, green, greenish-red, smooshy, moldy, you name it and she will pick it!

Eliza helped supervise dad as he picked.  She may or may not have walked across the box we were picking into.   We did have some great strawberry milk shakes when we got home!
Thanks Eliza!!

Water Fight

We picked up a few water guns and tried them out before Aunt Meghan and Rorie had to leave.
No one was safe with these boys around.

Rorie held her own against the boys.  She is a pretty good shot.

The boys kept shooting everyone even if they didn't have a water gun, so I had to dip up enough guns for Meghan and I to defend ourselves.  Here they come again!

"We got them!"

Here they come again!

Watch out Meghan here they come.

We really enjoyed having Meghan are Rorie visit.   We can't wait to see you again in little over a week!

Update on Garden

The tomatoes have really started growing after all the rain we have gotten in the last week and a half.
If you look at the tomatoes behind the kids in the rain post you can see how quickly they have come up.

I think this is a butternut squash and some more tomato plants.

The cucumbers and tomatoes have grow pretty well here, but not as fast as the tomatoes in the pots on the deck.

The butternut squash is coming in good.

The sunflowers are doing great!  The plant in the middle is over taking the other one, so it decided to go a head and flower!

Here is the flower starting to bloom.  Daniel is so excited!!

The carrots are doing well and there are a few more tomatoes.
(Yes, I know it needs to be weeded, badly!  However, it is much easier to weed with out Eliza!)

Peas and beans have started flowering and there are a few little beans and peas starting to grow!

Peas and blossoms

Even though the summer squash isn't very big it has started flowering.  I am super excited about the squash!!

Dancing in the Rain!

We have enjoyed cooler raining weather recently.  The kids took advantage of it one afternoon.

"We love the rain!"

The rain did wonders for our garden.  It has really sprung up.
It does wonders for the kids too!

Durham Bulls A Second Time

We had the opportunity to see the Durham Bulls play again this year.
The tickets were compliments of UNC.  We sad on the foul line and they fed us dinner.

We enjoyed the game.  It was interesting trying to explain all the rules to the boys.  Bradley caught on pretty quickly, but some of the terms in baseball are hard to understand.

The picnic area were we watched the game with friends.

Eliza enjoying being up late!

The boys are sure we need to go again!
