Family Reunion Part 2

July 14, 2014

Monday morning we got to work on our stick horses.  We had a rodeo scheduled and everyone had to have the perfect mount!  It was fun to see the kids create their horses.

Nathan hung out under the table and played with every one's toes.  He thought it was pretty funny.

The assembly line.  They folded their horse heads over and stitched them up with yarn.

Daniel waiting to get his ears stapled on.

Let the stitching begin!

Aunt Andrea got stuck helping small people compete their horses.  She is a good helper.

Dad and Uncle Jake helping the kids cut the sticks for their horses.

After all the horses were finished we headed to the backyard for some barrel racing.

Ben

I wish I could remember all the names of the horses.  The kids came up with some really good ones.

It was pretty hot on Monday and poor Kaylee got heat exhaustion.  She was pretty sick and had to go to the hospital were they found she was dehydrated.  It took her a couple days to bounce back.

The last event was a relay.  They had to run down and get a spoonful of water and jump little hurdles on the way back to the bowl. This event was timed!

Racing back for more water before his time is up.

I didn't get pictures of everyone doing all the events, but we did have great participation!  The kids were all good sports and cheered each other on.  It was a great rodeo.

After lunch we did sand art and some other activities in the shade to try and survive the heat of the day.

Aunt Malea and Uncle Colton were the instructors.
Malea was super confident...can you tell?  :0)

For FHE we all met on the back lawn for a lesson by Grandma.
Uncle Colton helped with all the tech support and prep.
We ready the Tawny Scrawny Lion.
We applied several gospel principles to this story.  It was a lot of fun and the kids kept their focus on the lesson the whole time.
