Easter Egg Hunt at the Park

April 9, 2014
Since Easter is getting closer we decided to meet at a park for playgroup and have an Easter Egg hunt.  The weather was perfect for a day at the park.

Eliza and Ty

Eliza in her "spider" web.

Nathan loved this little rock.
It was just perfect for him to climb.

Nathan and Eliza
Conquerors of the rock!

All the kids lined up to take a walk while some of the moms hid the eggs.

These pull up bars where a long the way.  All the kids had to try them.
As we were walking along Eliza tripped and fell in the mud.  She got mud all over her dress.
She was a good sport about it and didn't even cry.

Nathan held on for a long time.

The kids two and under lined up to go first.
Ben, Nathan and Lincoln

Eliza waiting patiently for her turn.
She was one of the oldest there.

Eliza getting eggs by the climbing wall.

Nathan headed stray for this little disc.  It turns so you can lay on your belly and go in circles.
He got a little side tracked by it. :0)

Luckily there was an egg there!
I had to show him that the eggs have candy in them so that he would pick them up.
Then he wanted to open each one and eat it as he went.

Eliza made out like a bandit!

This truck was a little distracting too.

Nathan with a treat!

After the hunt Nathan enjoyed the swing.

Eliza took a turn pushing him.

Lulu is one of our friends from China.  His dad is here doing a one year program at Duke.
He is a sweet little boy and we will miss him when he goes home.

Some of the moms and kids checking our their candy.

Nathan and Taylor swinging.

Charisse and Ben

I couldn't resist taking this picture.
Their little girls were on the big rock and they were trying to get them to smile.

Zack and Nathan making music!

Eliza, Queen of the Rock!

Nathan loves slides.  He is brave enough to go all alone.

Yeah Nathan!

Cheese!

Hi Mom!

Eliza climbed all the way up the big rock by herself...

Then she needed a little help to get down.

Nathan had to try the climbing the "web" before we left.

These last two aren't from the Easter Egg hunt, but they do need to be documented.
Nathan got my mascara and tried to put it on.

He didn't do too bad of a job.  :0)

Shark Boy No More

Daniel recently lost his second tooth.
I helped him pull his first tooth.  He was counting down from 10 and when he got to 3 I yanked it out.  He was a little upset that I pulled it before he got to one.  This time I had to change things up a little.

I smile every time I watch this clip.

This shows how much the permanent tooth had already come in.  He got to be a shark boy with rows of teeth for a little while.

Conference Weekend

Like so many previous conference weekends Andy was on call.  Fortunately it was a quiet weekend. Since conference doesn't start until noon he had plenty of time to do rounds at the hospital in the morning.  In between sessions he did a little yard work.

The leaves were piled pretty high in this area, so he raked them down into the woods more and cleared the area.  This helps with drainage and hopefully less mosquitoes!

Nathan wanted to help.  He looked so cute working with Dad.

"You taking my picture?"

We got a cable to hook our laptop up to the TV so we were able to watch conference on our big screen.  It was much easier to see and hear that way.

Here are three reasons to have a big comfy chair!

Daniel, Nathan, Dad and Eliza

It got a little wild over there.  :0)

Bradley reverently watching from the comfort of the couch.

Daniel and Bradley giving Dad a foot massage.

"Your only in trouble if you get caught. I got caught!"
Andy gave me a really good foot massage during one of the sessions.

This is Nathan supervising the lotion use.

Conference was amazing as usual.  There were so many talks that we felt were for us.  We were also excited to see Aunt Andrea singing in the Saturday afternoon session.  After than the kids started seeing Aunts singing in all the sessions.  They were pretty sure Aunt Janna was singing in the Sunday morning session.

To Cut or Not To Cut...

Andy had a wart on his right hand.  It has been bothering him for a while and he decided to get rid of it.  He wanted me to help him, but I just couldn't.

All the instruments out and ready.

A look at the wart.

Andy giving himself some anesthetic.

A little more just to make it is numb.

His finger got a little swollen with the anesthetic.

Then he started cutting with a razor.

It only took a few minutes and the wart was gone.

He had to put his finger under the water so he could see past the blood.
When he was done he put some super glue on it and kept on working.

I took this updated picture last night to see the progress.
It is looking pretty good.
