Happy 2nd Birthday

June 22, 2014

It is hard to believe Nathan has been with us for two years already.  It seems like last week he was tiny and stayed where I left him.  :0)  Now he is so BIG!  He loves to explore EVERYTHING!  He thinks he can do anything his brothers or sister does, and he has NO fear.  He is very coordinated and agile.  He can climb almost anything and requires constant supervision.  He is also very sweet.  He loves his family.  Nathan loves to snuggle or smash, depending on his mood, his brothers and sister.  He loves to read stories, watch quiet movies, and be outside.  Nathan loves animals, airplanes, motorcycles, trains and cars.  He likes to do things all by himself and often gets upset when I try to help him.  He frequently says, "I do it!"

His birthday was on a Sunday this year so we decided to have a few friends over for brownies and ice cream.  Nathan loved his presents this year.  He was also excited to have his dad home to celebrate with him.
Nathan opening his presents.
(It is sad that the only paper I had was Christmas paper.  I guess that is what happens when you are getting ready to move and quit shopping.)

Nathan had some great supervision as he opened his presents.
He got some cars from CARS 2 and a new movie.

Looking at his new cars.

The big present was his favorite though.  It is a motorcycle!

Nathan was super excited to get it out and drive it.
The light on the front really works and the engine refs just before it starts to drive.  We all had fun watching him drive his motorcycle.

Daniel, Nathan and Bradley waiting for our friends to come so we could start eating.

Getting the candles out after singing.

What's everyone looking at?

Nathan enjoying his dessert!

Margaret and Marek got Nathan a new book.

Dad and Nathan reading "Boogie Woogie."

Nathan looks so cute in his little bow!

After eating dessert we visited for a while.
Daniel and Bradley are listening to Marek tell a story.

The story was pretty entertaining.

Then Nathan got a special phone call from Grandma and Grandpa to sing "Happy Birthday" to him.

He was very excited to talk on the phone.
It was a great day and we are so grateful we have Nathan in our family!

Scout Camp

June 16-20, 2014

Bradley went to his first scout camp.  Last year he did a day camp in Utah, but this year it was a week long!  They had a space theme for camp this year.  It was really hot all week long, but he enjoyed every minute.

Bradley made this rocket out of tin-foil and cardboard.  They launched the rockets using pressurized air.  He won!  His went the highest.

Nathan was so excited about the rocket!

After a long week they had a family lunch and water play on Friday, June 20.
Nathan was excited to see Bradley.

Bradley's den heading up for lunch.

Eating under their Den tent.  It was HOT!

Looking across the field at all the den tents.  The open field is where the water fight was held later.

Eliza got too hot so we had to put her in the van with the AC blowing on her.

She didn't want me to leave her, so I told her that she could roll down the window if she needed me.

She just played with the window.

Nathan was getting bored waiting for Eliza to cool down.

He stole my water.

Hey this is mine!
When Eliza cooled down we went back to watch the skits before the water fight.

Bradley holding their group flag.

They did the "Raisin" skit.
They all took turns finding a bug and ripping off a leg...

or a wing...

or an antenna.

Finally the last guy comes up and says, "I found a raisin." and then eats it.

A group picture

Bradley was front and center.
The leader in front of him had a cool water gun that can skirt out the side.

Bradley got it right in the face!

And he begged for more!!

Ah, my eyes!

These were his leaders for scout camp.

Nathan a little too close to the camera.

Since it was so hot I kept getting water on a wet wipe and wiping Eliza's head, neck and arms to help her cool off.  It worked so well she thought she would help Nathan stay cool.

Nathan thought it was pretty funny.

After all the awards and skits they turned the boys loose!
It was pretty crazy to have 100 cub scouts turned loose with water guns and water balloons.

Daniel: Does this thing work?

The water slide was really cool!

The kids loved it.  They got going pretty fast.

Bradley getting ready to go.

Go Bradley!

Nathan and I found some shade to relax in.

Eliza, Daniel and Bradley trying to hide from the hose that was soaking everyone!

This is the leader over the whole camp.  He was a good sport.

Nathan went around picking up water guns that had been discarded by the boys.

Here comes the shark to get you!

Eliza getting ready to go.

The start was slow, then she started to gain speed.

Wow!

She decided it was pretty fun.

Daniel going again.

He got sniped again.

Bradley

Bradley was one of the few that made it to the end of the tarp.

Daniel made it to the end a couple times as well.

Bradley getting ready to spray some scouts!

After a little help adjusting the cap...

His got his sneak attack done!

I think Daniel could have stayed on the slip n' slide all day!

Bradley thought it was fun to attack the boys coming down the tarp.
After the water fight we had to round up our brother.   They headed over to the bb gun shoot.

I see you mom!

I see you!

He was super tired after all the running and playing and fell asleep on the way home.  It was getting late so we just laid him on the floor so he wouldn't sleep too long.

He is such a sweet boy.
