Levan Reception

We stayed with Bethany and Tory at their new house in Santaquin, UT after the Malea and Colton's wedding.  The next morning, Dec. 28th, we headed down to Levan for the reception.  I dropped Janna off at the church to help finish decorating and I took the babies to Grandma and Grandpa's house. 

When we got to the church there were huge ice cycles!  Janna jumped in the snow to help get an idea about how big they are.

I love snow flocked trees and it has been too long since I have seen this much snow!

I got to visit with Tyler more this trip and I learned some things about him that I didn't know before.  I like him more and more with everything I learn about him.

Janna and I jumped in a picture together since our families weren't there.  It was so fun to be there and see everyone.

These are all the new babies and moms.  It was so fun to get all these little people together.  They were so cute and each has a very distinct personality.  We need to do this more often!

Aunt Laural made their cake as a wedding present and Aunt Mary added the flowers. 

I handed my camera to my nephew Tyler and asked him to get some pictures of the cake while we were doing pictures with Malea and Colton.  He did a great job and this last one was one of my favorites.  I love that the angel and the temple are in focus and all the activity in the background is blurred. 

 (That is so true of how the wedding went.  The marriage in the temple was the most important and the reception is just an after thought.)

Colton & Malea Wedding

Nathan and I were able to travel to Utah just after Christmas this year to see my sister Malea get married.  She has had a special place in our hearts ever since she was born.  She has a kind yet unconquerable spirit.  She is a very talented.  She can draw and place several instruments.  I have enjoyed getting updates on all her many college adventures.  I heard several stories about Mr. Colton Potter before I ever met him.  (Mostly because I met he the morning they got married.)  Anyway, I was very excited for Malea when she announced that she was getting married.  Partly because this meant I got to go home for Christmas and partly because marriage is a wonderful institution!  After meeting Colton I have to say he is going to fit in well.  We are so glad you are part of the family!  Now for some pictures of the main event!

 

Nathan and I flew out on Dec. 26, 2012.  Nathan did really well on the flight and slept most of the way.  Our flight got in  late and Malea picked us up at the airport.  It was snowing and everything was so white!  Janna had gotten us a hotel about 2 miles from the airport.  (That is the way to travel.  Stay in a hotel on Uncle Scott!)  Malea and Andrea stayed with Janna and I at the hotel.   The next morning, Dec. 27, Janna and Andrea did Malea's hair.  Colton came to the hotel to pick Malea up and take her to the temple.

 

Ammon was one of the supervisors while hair beautification was being done.

 

 

Nathan was a co-supervisor.

Finishing up....

After Malea and Colton left my dad called frantically trying to get a hold of us.  Malea had left the marriage license in her car.  They could finish their paper work without it.  We finished getting ready and loaded everything into the car and headed out for the Bountiful, UT temple where we hand delivered said marriage license to my dad at the temple doors.

 

The wedding ceremony was wonderful.  Their sealer did an amazing job.  Some of the advise and information he gave them was really for me.  I think it was the best wedding ceremony I have ever been to.  Andrea and the Mitchell cousins helped take care of all the babies in the waiting room.

Nathan loved his Uncle Neldon from the moment they met.  They did some good snuggling.

 

 

 

We got to meet our cousin Luke in person.  He is even cuter in person than he is in pictures. (So is his dad.)

 

 

We also met Sarah-Jane for the first time.  She is such a cutie.  She definitely has her mom and dad's number!

She was in trouble for something and her dad put her in time out, but she was still so cute!

Nathan had some many people to meet.  It made him pretty tired, but he loved all the attention.  (He is related to his dad!)

Nana is Ammon's other Grandma, but we love her so much we have practically adopted her into the family.

Colton's mom couldn't go into the temple, so they exchanged rings outside so she could be present.

I love all the different expressions on their little faces.  Luke and Nathan were cracking up at Aunt Katie/Mom because she was growling and barking at them.  Ammon couldn't care less about what was going on.  Noa had had enough and didn't want to share the spotlight any more, and Sara-Jane didn't want to be that close to Noa anymore.  It made for some good pictures.

After pictures at the temple we headed over to the chapel near Colton's parent's home for the luncheon.

They had Panda Express!  It was AWESOME!  Unfortunately I didn't get pictures until it was over.  Honestly I was too busy eating the delicious food and visiting with family.

These are the "Thank You"s they gave out to family and friends at the luncheon.  They had chocolates in them.  I thought they were really cute and wasn't sure they would make it home, so I got a picture.  The wedding was really nice and I am so glad I was able to go.  I am also grateful to Andy and his dad for keeping Eliza, Bradley and Daniel.  I will post pictures of their adventures sooner or later.  Hopefully it will be sooner than later.  :0)
