Home Made Ice Cream!

July 7, 2013
We didn't have time or room to have ice cream when we had our BBQ with Suazos on the 4th, so we had to plan another party to eat our home made ice cream.  There was a great little breeze that was perfect for flying kites.  One of the kites got loose and caught on the dish.

Kate's husband, Mike, climbed up to retrieve the kite.

The kids really enjoyed the bubbles.

Aunt Andrea has so stylin' shoes.  We had to try them one.
The kids loved it!  Here are some of their favorites.

Bradley in the 5 inch heels.
Daniel modelling the brown boots.

Nathan crashing Eliza's photo shoot!
That boy can crawl 90 mph.  He is constantly on the go.

Bradley trying out the brown boots.

Next we moved to the cool house slippers!
Daniel in Grandma's pig slippers, Bradley in Grandpa's whale slippers, and Eliza in Andrea's Eeyore slippers.

We always have so much fun when Aunt Andrea is around!

Marvin's and Mellors up the Canyon

July 5, 2013

After swimming lessons we headed up to the top of Payson canyon to find our Mellor and Marvin cousins.

Nathan helping Grandpa drive his car.
(Don't worry they didn't really go anywhere.)

We visited for a while under the trees.  The deer flies were awful!  We had to constantly swat them away.

Uncle Chris, Haigen, Jed and Tyler playing Bocce ball.
Daniel and Hayden watching from the side.

Rosy and Jed's new puppy

Nathan loved playing with the flowers and weeds.

We moved over by the trailers to find more shade and Grandpa found Uncle Kent's electric fly swatter.

Eliza getting ready for lunch.

Daniel was also waiting for lunch.
After we ate lunch we went for a walk.

We were constantly on the look out for wild animals.
 Daniel

Dallin on the look out.

I thought you said there were bears out here!

Dallin ready to fight off the bears.
Fortunately we didn't see any really ones.

Nathan was so excited to explore everything!

Even though it looks like Aunt Andrea is working on some baby back ribs, she is
really just trying to smoke Nathan to help camouflage him from the deer flies.

Then she moved to the electric fly swatter.
 It was pretty entertaining.

Uncle Keith came up with Mandy's girls.
It was fun to visit with them.

Andrea with Uncle Keith's dog Percy.

Aunt Rebeca with Annette's little girl.

Savanna and Nathan

We headed to the salamander pond.
We rode in the back of Uncle Keith's truck and Uncle Neldon followed us with his boys.

The scenery was amazing!

Nathan got too tired and fell asleep on Aunt Andrea.

What a comfy bed...thanks Aunt Andrea.

Uncle Keith giving Percy some exercise.
Percy would sit on the bank and wait for Uncle Keith to tell her to go.

Percy would jump way out and swim to get the fire hose back.

Percy returning with her catch...

Percy jumping again...

She is an amazing little dog.

Hayden tried throwing the fire hose for Percy to get.

Stay...

Go!

The kids loved looking for salamanders in the shallow water around the pond.

Bradley searching with Hayden and Savannah.

Hayden

Daniel waited for people to find salamanders so he could hold it for them.

Still looking...

Did someone say they caught a salamander?

Yes! Tyler was our expert salamander catcher.

Daniel holding a salamander in a cup.

I sat under this tree and watched the kids hunt for salamanders while Nathan slept.

Craig, Aunt Rebecca, Uncle Kent, Jolene and Grandpa K.

Eliza fell asleep on the way home from the salamander pond.
She didn't sleep every long though.

We had hamburgers for dinner.
There was a storm blowing in so the temp was going down.  We forgot to take jackets with us so the kids were getting cold.
 Everyone huddled around the fire.

Kaleb and Dallin playing "teeter-tatter".

Bradley roasted his own hot dog and marshmallows.
Grandma went home with us and left Grandpa to wait for Andrea to go for a hike with Brenda.
Here are some of the pictures from their hike.

Back of Nebo.

Looking down towards Nephi canyon.  I love how you can see the storm rolling in.
We had a lot of fun "hiking in the mountains."
