Camping at Mt. Diablo
We got together with some friends and our cousins to go camping last weekend. It was a lot of fun. The kids ran around and played together really well. It was a little bit warm when we first got there, but it cooled down that night to be just right for me without a jacket. Everyone else had to find their jackets though. It was warm enough that night that we didn't need to sleep in the sleeping backs, we just used blankets. Everyone slept pretty well after our noisy neighbors went to sleep around 3-3:30 am! The great thing is that we had 9 kids under 7 years of age there that all got up around 6:30 am. :)
Airplane Scott brought his grill and he and Dr. Scott cooked breakfast. (Airplane Scott also made dutch-oven peach and blueberry cobblers the night before. They were to die for!)
Here are the troops eating breakfast.
Nick and Jade are Aiden's cousins that came to visit with them for a couple weeks. They are great kids and we enjoyed getting to know them. We hope you come again!
Ben is a mover these days. He was kept us all entertained!
Joe, Jade, Nick, Aiden & Anna. The kids went on a hike before breakfast. This rock was just above our campsite.
Daniel loved this "rock slide" on the trail up the hill behind our campsite. He would climb up it, sit down and slide on his pockets down. He thought it was very fun and I thought he was cute!

Looking up to the trail where the kids went on their early morning hike. Just above where Daniel is earlier that morning the boys were waiting for Scott and Andy to go for a hike with them when I noticed Bradley start to drop his pants. I yelled and asked him what he was doing. It was then that I noticed his cousins where dropping their drawers too. Soon they were all watering the weeds! Four year old boys are a lot of fun!
Seth, Jake & Bradley playing king of the rock. Just check out those muscles!

WWII Submarine Tour
Blogger was doing funny things when I was uploading pictures so these are a little bit out of order, but here they are.

This was a fairly typical scene at our house after going places. We wiped them out!!
The start of our submarine tour.
Bradley enjoyed posing for pictures.

The guys on deck.
Bradley and I thought the big guns were cool!
Bradley really wanted to try shooting this one.
Bradley was so excited to explore everything. If he could climb it he did!
The tube on the top left has a torpedo in it.
The toilet.
The shower. I love how roomy everything is. :)
The kitchen. I got a picture of the majority of the kitchen. The other counter is just barely out of the frame. There was probably one about 2.5 feet between the counters.
Grandpa on one side of the kitchen.
Bradley and Dad on the other side. I was standing as far back as I could to get the whole dining area. That is pretty much it!
This is the crew quarters. There cots were stacked 3 high! I can't imagine having to share this room with 30+ people!

Everything was pretty cramped!
I got pictures of everyone going through the different doors. Bradley had the easiest time since he is so little and had lots of energy!

I would hate to have to go through these doors very fast.
Grandpa behind the "wheel" of the sub.
Bradley with his "pedo." He kept asking to get a picture with the "pedo" so we had to get one. Did I mention that he loves to pose?!
Bradley and I on deck. The sub rocked back and forth quite a bit since it was just tied onto the dock. We had to take a minute or two when we got off the get our sea legs back and for the ground to quit rocking. It was a lot of fun to see the sub, but I am very glad I wasn't on it while it was still being used. Thanks Grandpa for taking us. Thanks Grandma for keeping Daniel with you while we took the tour!
Bradley and Daniel getting diapers before our trip home. Daniel needed a new diaper and we knew Bradley would go to sleep from such a long day. What better place than the trunk to change!

Another Trip to the Rock!
One of our highlights when people come to visit us is to show them Alcatraz. The boys and I have been there three times now. Our favorite part is the "boat" ride. It never gets old for the boys. They did better on this last tour than they have on any other tour.
Bradley on front of the ferry.
The hill up to the jail is the equivalent of at 13 story building. I should have ridden the tram with Grandma and let the guys push the strollers!
