Week with Dad~2

Andy helped me with a few projects while he was home.  The kitchen chairs have needed new pads on them for a while. He had to cut some of the pads to make them smaller for the front legs on the chairs.  The left overs made a great stache!!

What a look!

These are some cool caterpillars from our neighbors yard.

Nathan has started rolling over.  He thinks he is big these days.
He is very cute!!

I just couldn't pick my favorite.

That week was D.A.R.E. and the kids got to wear hats one day, crazy socks one day, and this was mismatch day.  The boys were excited to get to dress crazy and have spiky hair!!!

This is an update on Bradley's chin.  It is healing well.

A Week With Dad

Andy had this last week off, so we packed as much fun in as we could.  On Monday Nathan had his 4 month well check up, so I made Andy come a long to be the bad guy.  After 9 years and four kids I figured it was time he got to hold down the baby while he got shots.  It was hard on him, but he was a good sport.  Nathan weighed in at 16 lbs. 6 oz. and is 25 inches long.  He is growing so quickly!  Bradley, Daniel and Eliza came to the appointment so they could get their flu vaccines.  After that we picked up a couple more pumpkins for family night and dropped the kids off to school.

Andy went back to the school a little later to have lunch with Bradley.  Bradley was super excited to see Andy and Eliza.

For FHE we had the Elders over for dinner. After dinner we decorated brownie haunted houses.  I told the boys to pick an Elder and get started since there were two brownie houses.  Bradley immediately said, "I get the skinny one!"  We all started laughing and asked which one the skinny one was.  They are both the same size so we thought it was funny!  They were good sports about it.

Bradley and Elder Campbell, the "skinny" one.  ;0)

Eliza supervised both houses.

The finish products!  They were very proud of the haunted brownie houses.

Margaret snuggled with Nathan while we got everything ready for the pumpkin carving portion of the evening.  We invited our neighbors over to carve pumpkins.

Eliza drew the face on her own pumpkin.  I thought she did a great job so I had to get a picture.  Then I helped her cut it out.

Still carving...

Still carving....

Almost done...

Finally finished!

Daniel was very pleased with the way his pumpkin turned out.

Bradley with his!  I think he and Dad picked big enough pumpkins don't you!?

It was fun to see them all with candles in side.

Firsts in October

We have had a few firsts in October this year.  Some have been more delightful than others.  To start off, Bradley has his first near stitches experience.   It was after school on the 18th when Bradley started looking for an after school snack.  He climbed up on the counter but couldn't see what he was looking for so he started to get down.  He slipped and hit his chin on the way down.  I looked over when he started to cry and saw blood on his fingers when he touched his chin.  I got him a tissue and we kept the blood from getting everywhere.  I couldn't see how deep it was, but I could see that it was at least an inch long.  It popped open pretty wide, so I knew that something needed to be done.  I called my neighbor Margaret to come sit with the other kids so I could take Bradley to the Urgent Care Clinic.  While I was waiting for her to come I called Andy.  It took him a couple minutes to get to me.  Bradley had calmed down, but didn't want anyone to look at his chin.  Andy wanted us to wait until he could come look at it before we did anything.  The Chiefs let him off a little early so he could come check things our.

Bradley waiting for Dad to get home.
He wouldn't let us look at the cut.  I had to put the other kids up stairs in my room watching a movie so we wouldn't traumatize anyone.
We ended up wrapping him up in a blanket and putting him in a headlock so that Andy could clean it and get a good look.

Andy didn't think it needed stitches, so he super glued it closed.

Bradley calmed down quickly when Andy finally said, "We're done."  I wanted to beat the boy for traumatizing me!!
I have been very sensitive to people climbing on my counters since then.

For a more delightful first we will go to Nathan.

I laid him on his blanket to play on his 17 week birthday.  He played very well, so I was a little surprised when Eliza started yelling, "Nathan is coming off!"  I looked over and this is what I saw.

He was so pleased with himself.  All he needs to do now is get those shoulders up and he will be clear over!
I can't believe how quickly he is growing!

Kids in October

After the ward camp out I went to the adult session of Stake Conference and Andy kept the kids.  Eliza had so much fun that she was plum tuckered out!

The boys love playing games with Dad.  "Spot It" is one of our favorite games.

I have been pumping a bottle a couple times a week so that Nathan will get use to taking one.  The other night I had some things I needed to get done, so Bradley offered to feed him for me.  It was really sweet!

Nathan also enjoys kicking on a blanket.  Sometimes he get a little tired from all the exercise.

One day when we got home from picking the boys up at school we found a large lizard in the drive way.  He was just sitting on the cement.  He wasn't nervous about the kids at all!  They walked right up to him and he just sat there.

Bradley really wanted to hold him, so I told him to just pick it up.  He grabbed the tail and the lizard just hung there.

Yeah, Bradley may not be a Crocodile Hunter or a Snake Stalker, but he could be a Lizard Lord!
Funny kid!

Daniel went on his first field trip to a pumpkin patch.  He was super excited about riding the bus and picking his own pumpkin!

Isn't school great!
