Helping Great Grandma Kenison

For one of Bradley's baptismal goals he needed to help a Grandpa or Grandma with something that is hard for them.  We asked Great Grandma Kenison if there was anything he could help her with.  She said she needed to vacuum out her garage, so we took Grandpa's shop vac up and got to work.  We did have lunch first and then got to work.

Bradley sucking the spider webs out of the corners.

He also got a lot of sand and dirt off the carpet under the car.
After a while he got tired of vacuuming all alone and went outside to help Grandma in the yard.
Nathan and I took over the vacuuming.

They helped Grandma get the extra bulbs out from around her tree.

There were quite a few bulbs.  It took them awhile to get them all thinned out.

Nathan kept trying to run off with Grandma's bucket.  He was a good helper.

After the work was done the kids borrowed Grandma's butterfly nets and tried to catch butterflies.
Bradley actually caught one.

Aunt Bethany's Trailer

Aunt Bethany got a camper trailer in a deal for a horse she was selling.  The trailer was really beat up, so she ripped it apart and made it into a flat bed trailer.
(When I say "she" I really mean Grandpa helped her...a lot.)

The boys loved to follow Grandpa around and help him with all his projects.
They especially liked the welding projects.

This is a good look for you two.

Grandpa getting things set up.  I believe they added a small plate to put the back lights on.

Grandpa also brought a sand blaster home from work so they could get the trailer ready to paint.
Grandpa blasting away!

The sand blaster makes quite the mess!

Tory's sister Glory came down to help keep track of Sarah-Jane while Beth worked on the trailer with Grandpa.

The trailer has been blasted and is ready to paint.

Bethany used spray paint for the hard to reach spots.

She didn't appreciate me snapping pictures while she was struggling under the trailer, but it had to be documented.  "Are you done yet?"

The dirt and paint left a Hitler stash on her upper lip.  It was too funny!

The finished product turned out really nice.  Aunt Bethany and Grandpa put in a lot of long hard hours and someone is going to get a really nice trailer out of it.

Grandpa is also very good at building egg carton trucks!

Bradley putting on his back wheel.

Eliza decided she needed one as well.  She knew Grandpa could get the job done.

The egg carton trucks didn't drive the very best, but they were a lot of fun to build.
Thanks for helping out with the construction of our trucks Grandpa!

Fishing with Grandpa and Other Misc. Pictures

Bradley and Daniel were super excited to go fishing with Grandpa.  We stayed busy enough that they only had time to go fishing one evening.  Grandpa took them down to Yuba to fish off the dock.

Bradley and Daniel both caught a fish.  Daniel caught another one that was pretty big.  It took off with the pole!  :0)  He had just set the pole down of the dock for a minute when he got a bite.  The fish swam off with the pole.  He felt really bad!!

Showing off their catches for the day.
Thanks Grandpa for taking us fishing!

Our Smith cousins made it to Utah!  The kids were very excited for them to come.
 Nathan checking Ammon out.

He's okay Mom, we can keep him!

Nathan also loved the little flags out front in Grandma's flower beds.  He would pack them around constantly!  He also liked to follow his brothers and sister around.  He followed Eliza down to the soaker hose.  He liked the water.  :0)

Climbing up...

Getting ready...

Charge!
"Give me liberty, or give me death!"

I  get a kick out of this boy.

Eliza was very worried about Sheena.  She would pack the bucket down and catch water from the hose and pack it back up for Sheena to get a drink.

There you go girl...drink up.

Eliza is such a sweet and thoughtful girl.

Grandma did a fabulous Family Night Lesson about the armor of God.
She did a demonstration with an orange that was really cool.
After FHE the kids took turns trying on the "armor of God."

The boys also enjoyed playing in Grandpa's sprinklers.
They were just too tempting to resist and it did get hot in Utah.

Bradley wondering if he won the wet t-shirt contest.

We really enjoyed those lazy days of summer with Grandpa and Grandma!
