Playin' with the Boys

Chad and his roommate Mike drove out from Utah to see us this last weekend. Since Chad and Andy both have December birthdays they decided to celebrate together at Six Flags. We only live about 20 minutes from there. Six Flags didn't open until 3pm so they decided to go down to San Francisco to see some sites. They looked up Lombard street, the most curvy street, and the steepest street, which I can't remember the name. They also went out to see Alcatraz. They had lots of fun. Here are some pictures of their adventures!

They had lots of Christmas lights up all over Six Flags.

Crowding around the fire to keep warm.

A seal show.

Chad petting the sting rays.

This is a dolphin show.

They had a window under the feeding area so you can see the dolphins really well when they go up to get fish.
Alcatraz:
Another picture of a picture. :)

Mike on the way to Alcatraz.

Chad arriving at Alcatraz.

One of the old buildings. I wasn't there so I am not sure which one.

Looking back towards San Fran from "The Rock".

Inside the jail house.

This is the exercise yard that the prisoners used. Since I have always had kids in strollers with me I have never seen the yard. Thanks for taking all the pictures Uncle Chad!

A jail cell.

This is where the inmates turned in their street clothes and got there prison clothes.

Bed Time

Last night Andy was getting the kids ready for bed and I heard quite a bit of giggling. They were all laying on the bed, so I had to get the camera since they were being so cute!
The boys definitely take after their Dad...he likes to make funny faces too!

The boys are so good to be gentle around Eliza.

This one is one of my favorites! I mean...whose crazy kids are these?!

A Christmas Nativity

Our stake held a Nativity Display and had people from each of the wards come and perform some Christmas music. There were over a hundred different Nativities from around the world on display. I took the boys and Eliza to see them while Andy was hangin' with Chad and Mike. (More on the adventures of Andy, Chad and Mike to come!) I told the boys to pick their favorite ones and we would get pictures of them. Here are a few of our most favorite Nativities.

"Snowman"
" Peanuts"

" Coca Cola Can"

"Eskimo"
This one was made our of sculpting clay. Super Cute!

They were doing a live Nativity sometime that night. We weren't there for the live one, but we did get to see the baby goats and a lamb that were part of the live Nativity. The boys love petting them. They thought we should take them home.

It was so dark I couldn't see them threw the viewer on my camera, so the little goats get cut out of the picture just a little bit.

We had fun and the boys did really good and didn't brake anything! Then on the way home we drove through a neighbor hood near us that had lots of Christmas lights. We saw some great displays, and the boys still talk about some of them...like the Santa on the smokin' motorcycle!

Say a Little Pray

One day this last week Daniel was playing with some cars on the kitchen floor. He was driving them across the floor and Doc Hudson when spinning out of control and under the stove. He was far enough under the stove that Daniel couldn't see him. He was very upset. Andy thought this would be a good teaching moment. He told Daniel that when we lose things we should pray and ask Heavenly Father to help us find them. (I wasn't sure this would be the best situation to teach this principle since we all knew exactly where Doc was.) Andy and Daniel proceeded to have a little pray asking for help to find Doc. Then Andy told Daniel they needed a flash light and the fly swatter. In seconds they had Doc out from under the stove. Daniel was very excited!

About 5 minutes later I was loading the dishwasher and Daniel push Doc and McQueen under the dishwasher out of my sight. Then he said, "Oh no! Doc missing. We need to pray!" When I lifted the dishwasher door they were sitting right there. I pointed to them and Daniel said, "No!" Then he put the dishwasher door back down and said, "Doc missing Mom! We pray!" Does this kid learn quick or what?

Random Pictures

These are some random pictures from the last couple of weeks. The kids have been really good to help me with all of my errands and they are very good helpers.
This one is from our family Christmas photo shoot. Daniel was really good to pose for us.

I was trying to figure out some what the deal was with the red eye on our camera and the boys were good to pose!

Bradley lining up his up his army men for the fight.

Eliza in her dress from Aunt Jenny. So cute!!

Eliza after her bath. So fresh and clean!

Eliza and Bradley snuggling on the couch. Bradley kept laughing and saying that Eliza's hair was tickling his chin. I just love her spiky hair. The only time it lays flat is when it is wet!

Eliza in one of her Christmas dresses.

Daniel posing! We got the biggest kick out of him.

This is the only picture we got of the kids together before Bradley had a total break down! He refused to smile for anymore pictures. It did turn out pretty cute.

The Nativity

For family night we got together with our Bleazard Cousins and the Carrols to do the Christmas Nativity. Here are some pictures and a video of the Nativity. The video is a little bit long, but is very entertaining in a couple of places.

*Air Plane Scott and Elyse relaxing after the performance.

This is a tradition the Carrols have. You make ice cream balls and put a candle in the top and light it. Then the last person with there candle still burning wins. You can only use your spoon and not your hands. It was a lot of fun. The winner gets a price.

*Anna, Bradley & Seth

*Eliza was an angel. I was the angel's helper. (WE are still trying to get the hang of the new camera.)

*The manger scene!

*Joseph and Mary traveling to Bethlehem with their donkey (Angie).

*Mary (Anna), Joseph (Bradley), Shepherd (Daniel), and Angel (Kendra)

Andy, Air Plane Scott and Jake were the Wise Men. Dr. Scott, Daniel and Seth were the shepherds. Eliza and Kendra were the angels.

If you watch you will see how helpful the donkey is in delivering the baby Jesus (Elyse). You will also notice the kicking fight between Joseph and one of the shepherds. I am not sure why they were fighting, but it was a little bit funny. Luckily that donkey is very helpful. I think I need a donkey like that!!

Ask and you shall receive

So, my wife was asked to speak in sacrament meeting last week by our bishop, who had forgotten that she spoke the last time he conducted at the end of september. She said yes of course.
"Are you sure you really want to hear from me again; I spoke just a couple months ago." Well, he just called back today and said he is going to give someone esle the opportunity; i.e. she is off the hook. Wow!!! Next time I am asked maybe I can bring this up and say my wife just spoke ... and see if it works for me.

Eliza & Elyse

We have been wanting to get more pictures of Elyse and Eliza together in their twiner outfits. (Thanks again for the cute outfit Caroline!) Yesterday we got together. The girls are so cute and they almost look like they are the same size...until you look at their legs or arms. Elyse still has us beat on the chubby arms and legs. Here are the pictures we got. I thought they were too cute to only pick a couple, so I had to post all of them. (I am sure the Grandmas and Aunts won't mind!)

They look so peaceful when they are resting!

Most of the time Elyse was asleep and Eliza was pretty alert, but then they switched. Elyse was getting hungry so her mom had to get her to sleep in order to finish. (She did get to eat after the pictures were over!)

This is the "aren't we finished yet" shot. They both look a little stoned or something...with their little eyes only partially open.

Elyse reminding us she was hungry and done with pictures.

Eliza with one of her new bracelets from Aunt Janna.

Sleeping Beauties

I love this one of Elyse. She is so cute and cuddly!

I love pictures with little tongues!

We have really enjoyed both of these darling little princesses, and believe me they are! Both girls have already figured out how to get exactly what they want, especially from their Dads!

Family Christmas Card

We made a couple different cards trying to decide which one we liked the best. These are our favorite ones. We hope you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
