JOrdan Lake and Museum

This bird feeder was already here when we moved in so we decided to put it to use.  We have enjoyed the birds, but the squirrel is our favorite.  I didn't think they could reach it, but apparently they can!

I don't mind the squirrels, but if the raccoon comes back again I may have to shoot him!

JORDAN LAKE

Some friends invited us to go out to Jordan Lake with them.  Due to miscommunication they didn't make it and we did.  Sorry Emily and Edward!

It was a nice little beach area and there were life vests there you could use for FREE!

Eliza got too hot and she was too tired so we only stayed for about 1 1/2 hrs.

Eating our picnic lunch

Guess who got too tired!

THE NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM IN RALEIGH, NC

Daniel's favorite was the Dinosaur display.  Here he is in a foot print.

Ella, Bradley and Daniel checking out one of the front legs.

Bradley, Daniel and Becca (in red) in the under water exhibit.

I asked them to show me their teeth and this is what I got!

I am not sure what this pose is, but I like it!!

Daniel, Becca, Bradley, Jane and Emily checking out the whale skeletons.
Daniel was sure they were more dinosaurs.

This one was cool because it shows what it looks like when a pelican dives for fish.  You can sort of see it around the reflections in the glass.

The sea horses where another favorite.

Baby sea turtles

Giant Dino Shark Jaw!

I loved the butterfly exhibit!

The bell was outside the museum.  It is a replica of the Liberty Bell.  You gotta love Bradley!

June Update

As you know we arrived in North Carolina the first part of June.  Here are some of our favorite pictures from June.  There are some events I didn't feel like documenting at this time.  I do have them and will show them to you when ever you feel incline to visit!  :)

This is when we went to dinner after the hotel manager told us that the police wanted us to evacuate for about an hour.  (Later that night is when the SWAT team arrived!)

Daniel was upset that he didn't have any more ketchup!

Eliza decided those straws were pretty cool.

Bradley being cheesy!  Gotta love him.

This is a beetle we saw on the side walk.  Those are Bradley's little fingers.  That was as close as he wanted to get to this beetle!

Swimming in the pool.  We did enjoy the pool at our hotel.  We are extremely grateful not to be there any more though!!

The BENNETT PLACE: A Civil War Site

This is only about a 15-20 minute drive from our house.  IT was fun to get away from unpacking and see some of the area around us.

It was good that I had my helpers with me.

I love their sun glasses!  Don't we look cool!!

It was a pretty hot and humid day.  Can you tell?

Inside the cabin on the Bennett property.  This isn't their original cabin.  It is from the same time period, but the moved it from down the street.

Taking advantage of their nature trails.

Eating lunch

Eliza just loves those fingers!

Daniel came to keep me company while I fed Eliza.  He is going to be such a good driver.

TO THE BEACH

We went to Atlantic City beach here in NC when Andy had to go get checked in at the AFB.

It was an over cast day, but still pretty hot.

There were blue soft shelled crabs everywhere.  It was fun to pick them up and help them back into the water.  Daniel like to look at them, but not hold them.

It took Daniel a minute or two to get warmed up to the water.  He did get knocked down once by the waves and didn't want to go in again.

Daniel running from the waves.

Eliza wanted to eat everything!  I was having a hard time getting a picture of her in the sand since she kept putting it in her mouth every chance she got.

Andy finally talked Daniel and Bradley both into going out a little ways with him.  While they were out there I saw a dorsal fin.  I panicked at first, then I realized they were dolphins!

This one is from the base.  (A little out of order.)

We had fun at the beach and are excited to take visitors there with us!

I just love this one!

SEYMOUR JOHNSON AFB

They have really nice playgrounds next to the temporary housing.

After Andy got checked in we went exploring the base.  It is really nice and supports a bunch of fighters.  They are definitely more noisy than the C-17, C-5 and KC10 at Travis, but they are more exciting to watch.

We had to check out all the fighters they had on display.  While we were trying to get pictures the Base Commander stopped his car in the middle of the road and came to take the pictures for us.  He said he knew what it was like to try to beat the timer and have everyone looking all at once.  He was a really nice guy and said we had a beautiful family!  I like that guy!!

These ones were after the base commander had gone.  Can you tell?

Eliza and I stylin' in our sun glasses.

Typical Bradley and Daniel picture!  I love the fighters they had in the fountain.  It was a very beautiful base.

Raleigh, NC TEMPLE

We went to check out our closest temple which is really in Apex, NC.  It is about a 30 minute drive.

It is a beautiful little temple.  (We are still partial to the San Antonio, TX temple as far as little ones go.)

Eliza just because she is so cute!!

8 months

It is hard to believe that Eliza is 8 months already.  Her sweet spirit has added so much to our family.  Having a little girl definitely changed the dynamics of our home.  Eliza is adored by everyone, but mostly by her brothers.  They love to show her new things and feeding her is coolest thing of all! Here are a few of our favorite Eliza pictures.
