Forts in the Lilacs

One morning while Grandma was weeding she noticed that there were some open spaces in the lilacs.  She thought they looked perfect for a fort.  She showed them to Bradley and he thought they needed to cut a few branches out of the way.  Grandma and Grandpa helped with that and now there are two forts in the lilacs.

Bradley and Daniel had been playing in the sprinkler and got a little bit muddy.

Nathan loves to be outside playing with the kids.

Sheena is getting pretty old.  She is still pretty sweet though.

The door to Daniel's fort.

Daniel heading in while enjoying a home made Popsicle!

The entrance to Bradley's fort.

"Come on in Mom!"

Inside the fort.  There are a couple entrances to this fort.
That way you can get out if you are being attacked.

Nathan and Eliza playing in the water.

Nathan just loves the hose!

"Look Mom, no hands!"

Eliza and Lily

Eliza is pretty sure she needs a "puppy."
I am pretty sure she should just visit the "puppies."

Nathan loves Grandma's flowers.  His favorite thing is to pick them.

Nathan loves to help Grandpa and he doesn't ever think he is too much help.
Even if Grandpa thinks might be thinking it.

Nathan trying butternut squash all by himself.

He actually got one spoonful to his mouth!

However, fingers are much easier!

When he was done he threw his bowl on the ground.

Hangin' at the Homestead

Our first week in Utah helped is remember what 50 degree air feels like.  I really enjoyed it, but the kids thought it was a little chilly.  One morning Grandma went out to water the flowers and found ice in the hose!

Ice in June!  It did warm up nicely during the day though.

Grandpa got a new grill for Father's Day.  It required a lot of assembly!!
Daniel helping get set up for assembly.

Bradley supervising the assembly.  It turned out really nice.

Grandpa has had to keep the tricycles and the bicycles in good repair.  Thanks Grandpa!

One night the weather was so nice we decided to do scriptures on the front porch.  I had the kids pretend to be different people in the part we were reading.  Poor Bradley got killed twice in one night!  We were in first part of Heleman.

Our Dad called during scriptures so we had to take a brake and talk to him.
We miss you Dad!

Finishing up scriptures...

After scriptures the kids played for a few minutes before heading in to go to bed.

We are really enjoying the sunsets.  It is nice to be home!

We have also been enjoying pancakes with fresh berries and cool whip for breakfast!
These ones were actually for Grandpa.

Nathan has decided he really likes pancakes with cool whip.

"Mmmm!"

The kids have loved being able to play outside all the time.
Eliza and Nathan playing catch with a ball.

Nathan also enjoys eating with Grandpa.  They are good buddies when Grandpa is home.
Thanks for sharing Grandpa!

Levan Church and Manti Temple

The Levan church is under construction.  They are trying to get it up to code with earthquake standards.  When they started looking at the building the realized the outside walls weren't connected to the ceiling.  They have had to do some major overhaul on the chapel.  They try to keep it in good enough condition to still be used on Sundays.  There was one Sunday when the church smelled so bad they only stayed for sacrament meeting and that was held in the cultural hall.  It will be really nice when they get finished.

The scaffolding on the West side of the church.

The middle of June the moved to the East side of the church.

Grandma and Grandpa and I were able to go the a session at the Manti Temple on Nathan's birthday.

Manti has always been one of my favorite temples.

Grandpa and I by some of the pretty flowers.

There were thousands of chairs set up for the Manti Pageant.

Part of the scenery.

I have fond memories of the pageant and it will be fun to take my kids when they get a little older.
Thanks Aunt Andrea for tending the kids for me!
