Father's Day BBQ

June 15, 2013

Grandma and Grandpa host a Father's Day BBQ at their house each year.  The aunts, uncles and cousins bring their four wheelers and motorcycles to go for rides and we always shoot some trap.  I haven't been to a Father's Day BBQ doe a long time, so I was really excited that we made it.

Nathan visiting with Uncle Keith

This is Lily, Aunt Bethany's new dog.  She is a pure bread Corgi.

Eliza is especially excited about Lily.

Nathan sitting with Grandpa.  Nathan has decided that he really likes Grandpa.

They discuss all sorts of important things.

Nathan really likes to eat with Grandpa.

Kien, Mom, Nathan and Aunt Darc
Kien is so grown up now!  I almost didn't recognize him.

Mason, Sadie, Sherie and Malory

Kien, Wyatt, Brian and Glen getting ready to go for a ride.

Darcy's new dirt bike.  She was a little nervous, but just give her time.

Sadie giving Bradley a ride on the little four wheeler.

Daniel and McKell going for a ride.  The boys couldn't hardly wait for someone to give them a ride.  They went with who ever would give them a ride.

McKell and Bradley
Bradley talked her into letting him use the throttle.  He was in heaven!

Daniel and Haigen getting ready for a ride.

Bradley finally found himself a helmet!

Nathan with Aunt Mary
Here is a  funny story about Eliza.  I helped her get a plate and started walking her out to sit on the blanket to eat.  She stopped on the porch and said, "I don't want to eat over there."  I asked her why  she didn't want to.  She said it was because she was afraid of the boys.  I asked which boys she was talking about.  She pointed to Zack, Haigen and Zack's friend.  We all got a good laugh because they are all really nice boys.  I helped her sit next to Aunt Mary where the "scary boys" couldn't see her.  Then she whispered for the next 30 minutes so they wouldn't know where she was.  I still laugh about it.  She never did warm up to them.

I just love this picture of Daniel!

Eliza decided she wanted to go for a ride.  We finally talked her into riding with McKell.  She asked if the four wheeler went fast or slow.  I assured her it could go as fast or slow as she wanted.  She got on and as McKell started going Eliza started saying, "too fast!"  She slowly warmed up to the idea and let McKell go faster than 2 mph.

Emily and Kyler out shooting some trap.

Grandpa giving us one of his best cheesers!

Grandma is good at getting candid shots.  This one of Brian is my favorite.

Sadie doing a flip

Sarah-Jane was the supervisor.
*No children where injured in the filming of these flips!

Bradley, Colton, Zack's buddy, and Zack playing volleyball.

Uncle Dick, Emily and Grandpa watching the game.

Spencer and Haigen were the opposing team.  It was so nice to see everyone and visit with them.  I think everyone had a great time and the food was excellent too!

Outing to Salem Pond

June 14, 2013
We met Aunt Beth and Aunt Darcy at Salem Pond for a picnic and visit.  It was partly for Aunt Bethany's birthday.  The weather was perfect!

Eliza and Nathan are happy to be at the pond.

Bradley looking at some really big fish!

Aunt Beth and Sarah-Jane

Nathan, Aunt Andrea and Sarah-Jane
Aunt Andrea was out of school so she got to party with us all day!

Mom, Nathan, Aunt Darc, Bradley, Daniel and Eliza
Aunt Darc could only stay for a little while because she and Brian were going to look at a dirt bike for her.  It was fun to see her again.

Bradley wanted to swim really bad.  It is too bad I didn't think about it until we were already there or we could have brought our swim suits.

The kids building a sand castle.

I asked them not to get their shorts wet, so Bradley hiked his up and went out!

All the kids really wanted to play in the water.  They just couldn't help themselves.

We finally pulled them away from the water and headed for a shaded spot near the playground.
Nathan and I enjoying the blanket.

Daniel looks like a model from G.Q. the sports addition!

Bradley hanging around.

Grandma caught this picture of Sarah-Jane.  She is so darling!

Sarah-Jane showing her mom, Aunt Bethany, Aunt Andrea and Grandma her cool stick.

Nathan being his darling mischievous self.

Nathan giving me a big hug!

Daniel came over because he wanted Aunt Andrea to attack him.  He had been harassing her all morning so that she would chase him.  Finally I told him to just ask her to chase him, so he came over and asked her to attack him.

He might have gotten more than he wanted.
Judging by the look on his face I don't think he minded all that much.

We decided to take a little walk around the pond and cross the bridge.
Bradley pulling Sarah-Jane in Grandpa's new wagon with Eliza as their supervisor.

The whole gang, minus Grandma, our photographer

This was an interesting duck.  He didn't swim gracefully like the others did.  He really had to chug a long.  He also made a really weird sound.

As we made our way back around to the picnic area Sarah-Jane discovered mine and Eliza's water.
She was very excited about the whole thing!

When she didn't think anyone was looking she decided to try them out.  She was a little disappointed that it only had water instead of something sweet!
We had Subway sandwiches for dinner.  Delicious! then Aunt Andrea was good to take Bradley and Daniel around the Eco pond to look for tadpoles and water snakes.

They found one water snake, but they couldn't get close enough to catch it.  The certainly had a lot of fun though.  Thanks Aunt Andrea!
