Easter Weekend

Bradley was very excited to wake up Saturday morning to find that the Easter Bunny had come! He started eating his treats before I could even find the camera. Unfortunately our Dad had an assignment at the Bishop's Storehouse and wasn't home until lunch time, so he missed out on the Easter Egg Hunt. However, we did get to go to spend the afternoon with him and that is always fun!

The boys got new children's scripture books for Easter. Bradley is excited to have a choice when it is time to read.

Daniel was a little bit sad that he didn't get to snuggle as much as he usually does in the morning, but we had to hurry and get a picture before Bradley emptied BOTH baskets! Nothing is better that a McQueen fruit snack first thing in the morning!
Poor Daniel! Not even a basket of treats can make him happy if he doesn't get to snuggle!

Now we will have light when we go camping. Happy Easter Dad!

We did a small egg hunt outside our apartment. Bradley didn't really get the hang of it. He would stop at each one and eat it before he moved on to the next. I kept telling him to pick them all up first and then see what was inside, but he didn't.

He finally got them all!

Later on Saturday we went out to a little airfield where a guy in our ward works. Bradley loved all the little planes. He kept running around, pointing and yelling, "Look Mom, another one!"

Dad & Daniel next one of the engines that is being rebuilt.

Bradley, Robert, Daniel, Andy & Gavin

Gavin with 'his' plane. He went for his first small plane ride a couple weeks ago and this is the one he rode in.

"This one Mom!" Bradley was so excited to be able to walk right up to the airplane.

He even got to sit inside the airplane. He was having so much fun he hated to go home. We also got to watch a couple of airplanes take off and land. One airplane was towing a glider up. We watched it hook up and take off. The video isn't very good because we don't have a zoomer on our camera, but everyone thought it was pretty cool! Thanks Robert for inviting us out!

An interesting FACT about Easter this year!

Easter Sunday was my Dad's 58th birthday. (He is the one in the Tux, his brother Alan is next to him.) Happy Birthday Dad!

It was very historic this year, and this is why:

EASTER 2008: This year is the earliest Easter any of us will ever see the rest of our lives! And only the most elderly of our population have ever seen it this early (95 years old or above!). And none of us have ever, or will ever, see it a day earlier!

Here's the facts:

1) The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (220 years from now). The last time it was this early was 1913 (so if you're 95 or older, you are the only ones that were around for that!).

2) The next time it will be a day earlier, March 22, will be in the year 2285 (277 years from now). The last time it was on March 22 was 1818. So, no one alive today has or will ever see it any earlier than this year!

I'm glad you had such a fun Easter weekend. Your boys look so cute next to their Easter baskets. Also, I bet seeing the planes was really neat. We heard Robert talking about them at church and I was way impressed that Gavin was able to fly in such a small plane! And your Easter facts are really interesting. I was thinking how crazy it was that St. Patrick's Day and Easter were only six days apart this year.

Interesting fact! That's really neat! I like how you do Easter bunny and egg hunts on Saturday, it help keeps the focus on Sunday better!

I agree with Jamie. I like have the commercial Easter activities on Saturday so that Sunday can be more centered around Christ. I love that you included a church book in the kid's baskets. I think that is a great idea. I'm jealous you went to the airfield. It looks like so much fun! You have adorable boys and they look like they had a very memerable holiday. Good job mom!!
