A New Deck for Summer

We noticed that our deck was pulling apart.  It is put together in two pieces and the one closest to the house had slid off the supports.  We emailed our land lords and they arranged to have the deck replace.

This is the support by the house.

The center of the deck showing where the pieces had separated.

Front part of the deck off the support.

Pulling clear off the support.

When we were out of town for Andy's break we got a call from our neighbor to say that the workers had come and started on the deck.  This is what we came home to...and looked at all weekend!

Tuesday the 20th the came back and finished taking down the supports and putting up the new ones.

They changed the direction the deck ran so that it would be in one piece instead of two.

This is how it looked at the end of the day.

Wednesday morning they were back out to finish the deck.

Laying the deck.

Putting up the railing.

All finished and ready to clean up.

We have enjoyed having the deck and love the way it has turned out.  It is the same size as the original deck.  We plan to lots of deck parties this summer.  ;0)
