Up Dates: A Turtle and Scouts

It has been fun to watch Nathan and Ben as they have grown.  They are so similar in some ways and so very different in others.  Here is an updated picture of the cute boys.

Ben and Nathan

Nathan has decided that he is a big boy now.  He wants to do everything that his brothers and sister do.  Occasionally Eliza will use the step stool as her table to eat a snack while watching a movie. Nathan decided to try it out!

Nathan trying to get situated.

Like this Mom?

I make this look good!

Another day...another snack!

This apple is tasty!

On Saturday Bradley worked on passing off a requirement to plan and cook a meal outside.  He has been waiting for his dad to have a weekend off so he would be available to help him.  That day finally arrived!  While getting ready to make a fire they found a...

TURTLE!  Another visit from a box turtle.
Daniel watching the turtle.  He was a little bit shy.

Peek-a-boo!

Come on little turtle.  We know you're in there.
Eliza and Daniel

Nathan loves to be outside.  He escapes every chance he gets.
I'm only in trouble if I get caught!  I got caught!

Bradley and Dad getting the fire started.

Bradley was anxious to help get the flames going.

Did you see that?  My fire is started.

Still not quite ready to come out.

Andy bringing me a flower.

Daniel and Bradley cooking the hot dogs.

They did a great job.

It started to sprinkle while they were working on dinner.

Eliza is such a sweet girl.

The turtle finally came out while the kids weren't near the table.  Then it promptly walked off the side of the table.  The kids were afraid it had gotten hurt, but it was fine.
Nathan thought it was pretty cool.

Dad trimmed all the bushes for me.

Nathan and Eliza playing in the rain.

Eliza and Nathan are so cute and play so well with each other.

The great escape!  The turtle crawled all around the deck looking for a way off.

Eliza wasn't sure she wanted him to wander off.

Nope.  Not that way.

I am always surprised at how fast they really move.

Eliza is getting to be such a big girl.

Eliza followed Nathan around trying to protect him from the rain.

He didn't think he needed it.

Not quite enough room.

Daniel was concerned that the turtle was stuck.  It had was pushing with all its might.  Daniel couldn't get it out until he touched its head.  Then it went back inside it's shell.  Daniel was able to move him easily after that.

Part of the requirement was to review the food pyramid.

The boys paid close attention and could answer all the questions.  Now if only we could get them to eat better!
