Paradise Beach

After sending the morning at the zoo we headed over to Paradise Beach to have lunch and enjoy the surf.  There was a storm moving in so we did get a little rain but it was a lot of fun.

Eliza, Sarah Jane, and Aunt Bethany enjoying lunch.

Nathan
(So Nathan got his black eye from running across the room and hitting the edge of Aunt Bethany's kitchen table.  We couldn't believe it.  He literally ran across the room and hit the table with his face!)

Ammon and Taylor

Nathan wasn't sure what to think about the water.  He liked it, but didn't...

I think he was a little bit nervous about the pull of the water as the wave goes out.

Daniel was excited to do some boogie boarding!

Ammon loved the water.  Even if he was about to be swallowed up by it.
Taylor kept him safe though.  What a good big brother.

Ammon also loves to throw things...like sea shells.

Daniel and Bradley riding the waves.

Sarah Jane was a little more cautious than the other kids.

She had to warm up to the water.

A little sea weed next to a shell.

Aunt Janna and Ammon

Sarah Jane and Nathan playing in the sand

Abby rode in a few waves before hitting a piece of rock..or cement...or corral...or something painful.
She handed her board off to me and within five minutes I found the same slab she did.  :0)

Eliza in the rain.
The rain came down for about 10 minutes, but it wasn't too bad.

Nathan and SJ got a little chilly so we set up the beach umbrella to keep the rain off.

I put SJ's pink flower in my hair down by the water so it wouldn't get wet.  Then I forgot about it. :0)
It got soaked!!!  The good news is it still looks really good.

SJ, Eliza, Nathan and Abby
These four played so well that we weren't really paying attention to them.

Big mistake!  They got sand in everything!  We all had a lot of fun and were ready to head home just before 5 pm.  On the way back to Aunt Janna's we drove through a torrential down pour!  The wipers couldn't keep up.  I haven't driven through that much rain for  along time.
Thanks for the fun day!

It's crazy to live in a state that is still warm enough to play in the water even during a rain storm! Still getting use to that one... Looks like you had tons of fun! Glad to see no one tried to drown or get eaten by a shark! ;)
