CRUISIN' THE COAST
Every year during the first week of October they have a massive car show called Cruisin' the Coast. There are thousands of classic cars that converge on this area all week long. The cars participate in car shows and cruise up and down high was 90. Before general conference on Sat. we headed to the marina park near us to see the cars participating in that show.
We arrived a little bit early. Our dad has started studying for his boards and studies with some buddies on line each saturday morning. We enjoyed the playground while we waited for the show to officially start. Bradley going head first on the slide.
This is a 1979 Toyota Corolla wagon. It reminds me a little of the old blue car my dad use to drive.
Cool car and flame job!
Nathan, Daniel and Bradley would all like one.
A small hot wheels replica was under the hood.
This is a very patriotic sports car.
They had a thunder bird under the hood.
Old GMC truck.
I told the kids to pick their favorite car to get a picture with. Daniel has a thing for Mustangs.
Some of the cars have stuffed animals that add a little attitude to them. :)
This is a 1981 Datsun 200SX
Pink-a-licious flame job!
Bradley also has a thing for Mustangs.
1961 Corvette Convertible.
This car had a great paint job.
It is a memorial on wheels to 911.
This is Josh's first car show. He liked it.
This car had an unsightly passenger hand cuffed in the front seat.
Nathan thought it was cool.
This car gives head under the hood a new meaning.
This car has a hand grenade hanging from the rear view mirror.
The white tube on the left hand side was the AC of the day.
Nathan has a car just like this one at home. Aunt Vickie gave it to him after Uncle Buck passed away.
Can you tell Daniel likes fast cars?
This one was a fun one.
We especially liked the eyes on this 1930 Ford Model "A".
1933 Ford Pick up
This dodge charger had some history under the hood.
1955 Chevy Belair
We loved the little car they pulled behind them.
Daniel, Nathan and Eliza
Josh and Bradley working on their photo bombing skills.
A look without the kids.
1929 Ford Model "A" Pick up
I loved the wood work on this truck.
I thought the alligator heads in the back were pretty cool.
Super cool old truck. Probable my favorite one.
Eliza, Nathan, Daniel, Bradley and Josh
This truck has a crank on the front.
Very simple controls.
Before we left they did a tribute to all the veterans there. These are some of the veterans that had gathered.
The veterans lined up in front.
Then we all sang the National Anthem.
I love to see Veterans honored. You can just feel the sacrifice they made and how important our country is to them by looking at them during the National Anthem.
Thank you for your service and sacrifice!
I almost couldn't find Daniel on our way out. He blended in with the tree so well.
This cool old car was just unloading as we were leaving.
A couple days later Nathan, Eliza, Josh and I picked up a friend from the ward and went down to high way 90 to watch the cars drive past. (Eliza had come home from school the day before with a fever. Since she couldn't go back until she had gone 24 hours with no fever, so we played!)
It was more difficult than I thought to get a good picture of the coolest cars.
This one reminded us of Snot Rod off of CARS.
This one has a cool flame job.
This one was very unique.
Eliza and Nathan fed the birds some moldy buns while we were there.
I loved the purple wag. It made me think of Darcy.
We moved to another location to see some more cars and finally get some cool shark pictures.
I loved the hood ornements on the cars.
This little lizard was just hanging around.
Warning: Some pictures may be graphic...or at least dramatic!
Eliza being eaten!
Wait! Nathan is getting eaten too!
Please don't eat me!
I'm outta here!
I'm stuck!
This shark is just misunderstood...all he needs is a hug.
Don't worry. NO children were harmed in the making of these photos. :0)
Josh was just happy to be along for the ride.
Josh is about 4 1/2 months in this picture.
We also enjoyed playing with the dolphins.
This smoker is awesome! I might need one.
Nathan helping this shark floss a little.
Eliza
At night those giant black eyes turn red! The kids think it is a little bit creepy.
A day later Nathan, Josh and I took our friend to the HUGE car show in down town Biloxi. There were 8-9 blocks of cars! Cars EVERYWHERE!!
This car was the most unique and fun.
This little remote controlled raccoon was named Road Kill!
He stayed close to the car.
This car had some great creatures on it.
This Corvette reminds me of a car James Bond would drive.
