Mother's Day

Andy was lucky enough not to have to work on Mother's Day, which made it really nice for me.  Our ward got pictures of all the families since we are celebrating 50 years since it was organized.  They also gave the mothers some really good chocolate!  The primary kids did a really good job singing in Sacrament Meeting.

After church we had lunch and played some games.  Then the kids and Andy gave me my Mother's Day gifts.  I got a new food storage recipe book, a new book on CD and a novel.  Andy also got tickets for us to go to Wicked on the 26th.  I am very excited!

We decided to go for a short walk before Aunt Jenny had to head back to D.C.
Eliza was sure she needed her hat.

Daniel wanted to be in charge of the camera.  He took his job seriously and documented our walk well.  Mom and Aunt Jenny

Dad

We walked to a new subdivision near our house.  We saw some geese.  The kids wanted to chase them around, but they flew away.

We enjoyed the benches at the little park before heading back home.

Daniel wanted a piggy back ride from Dad, so naturally Eliza did too.  Aunt Jenny offered to give her a ride.  Thanks!

Heading out.

The kids with Aunt Jenny just before she heading home.  I am not sure if they were more sorry to see her go or her electronics.  Thanks Aunt Jenny for taking time out of your busy schedule to come and visit us.  We can't wait to see you again!

New Slip n' Slide

After Daniel's slip n' slide got popped a coupel weeks ago I promised him we would get another one.  I let him pick out his new slip n' slide and this is what we ended up with.  It is a double slide with body boards.  We decided to try it out after our Pioneer Day activity.  The funny part is that they didn't actually ride the body boards down the slide.  Mostly they held them out in front of them and slid on their bellies.  They did have a lot of fun though.

We didn'thave very good water pressure, so Andy held the hose to keep the slide wet.

Bradley starting out on the body board...

ending up on his backside.

Daniel slid and rolled most of the way down the slide.

Aunt Jenny was supervising to make sure Dad didn't get too wild.

Eliza was suppose to be taking a nap, but she couldn't go to sleep when she could hear and see the boys playing.  Eliza peeking out the window.

It was such a pathetic site that I gave in and let her come play instead of napping.

One happy little girl!

Mom and Aunt Jenny enjoying watching the kids play.  Daniel was good to help show Eliza how to go down the slip n' slide.

Dad had to go in the house for a while, so Aunt Jenny took over watering the slip n' slide.

Eliza caught on pretty quickly.  She would get up on her knees and push off.  She would only go a few inches and then start over again.

When Eliza got done sliding she decided to be a puppy instead.
I can't believe how long she just sat there in the stream of water because it was a little bit cold.

When the kids were done sliding we broke out the water guns for a good fight.

The boys ganged up on Aunt Jenny until Dad came out and then everyone attacked him.
I tried to get pictures of everyone during the water fight...

Can you see a pattern here?

Eliza was no respecter of persons.  If you got close enough she would shoot you.  I do have to say her favortie to shoot was Dad.

After the water fight we went around back and had ice cream bars and visited.
Aunt Jenny and Daniel

It was a relaxing afternoon and everyone was glad to share it with Aunt Jenny.

After dinner the kids got through the shower and Aunt Jenny let them play Angery Birds on her Kindle Fire.  The boys loved it!  Dad even got into it.

Pioneer Day in May

I know you are thinking that Pioneer Day is really in July.  Our stake primary decided we should celebrate early since it gets so hot in July that it is no longer as much fun.  Since our ward was in charge of manning the tables for the activities I signed up for the first shift 9-10 am.  They assigned me to the Buffalo Hide Story table.   Aunt Jenny was able to come visit us for the weekend we had a little extra help at the activity.  She was so good the keep Eliza with her and get some great pictures of the kids!

The kids all got their faces painted.  Bradley and Daniel got a Captain America shield on their faces.

They all enjoyed the sack race.

Daniel, Bradley and Eliza all joyed a racing each other.

After the sack races they went to the Stick Pole.

 Daniel vs. Dad

Daniel vs. Bradley
I am not sure who won all the matches since I wasn't there, but the boys did say that they pulled their Dad over.

Next up was the Buffalo Chip Toss.

Bradley was nice enough to help Eliza with her tosses.  She did pretty good.

Daniel was pretty good at it as well.

They also got to play Horse Hoes and some other Ring Toss.

Daniel was very good with the rings.

Bradley was a natural at the Horse Shoes.

Eliza with her corn husk doll.  All the kids made corn husk dolls.

This is the Buffalo Hide Story table.   Since no one else signed up to help I was there until the end at 11 am.

The kids played "soccer" with their corn husk dolls while they were waiting for me to get finished.  Dad did a pretty good job of blocking the dolls.  They all had fun.
