Pioneer Day in May

I know you are thinking that Pioneer Day is really in July.  Our stake primary decided we should celebrate early since it gets so hot in July that it is no longer as much fun.  Since our ward was in charge of manning the tables for the activities I signed up for the first shift 9-10 am.  They assigned me to the Buffalo Hide Story table.   Aunt Jenny was able to come visit us for the weekend we had a little extra help at the activity.  She was so good the keep Eliza with her and get some great pictures of the kids!

The kids all got their faces painted.  Bradley and Daniel got a Captain America shield on their faces.

They all enjoyed the sack race.

Daniel, Bradley and Eliza all joyed a racing each other.

After the sack races they went to the Stick Pole.

 Bradley vs. Dad

 Daniel vs. Dad

Daniel vs. Bradley
I am not sure who won all the matches since I wasn't there, but the boys did say that they pulled their Dad over.

Next up was the Buffalo Chip Toss.

Bradley was nice enough to help Eliza with her tosses.  She did pretty good.

Daniel was pretty good at it as well.

They also got to play Horse Hoes and some other Ring Toss.

Daniel was very good with the rings.

Bradley was a natural at the Horse Shoes.

Eliza with her corn husk doll.  All the kids made corn husk dolls.

This is the Buffalo Hide Story table.   Since no one else signed up to help I was there until the end at 11 am.

The kids played "soccer" with their corn husk dolls while they were waiting for me to get finished.  Dad did a pretty good job of blocking the dolls.  They all had fun.

I LOVE that you had Pioneer Day in May! That's a great idea. It looks like you had so many fun games to play! What are the buffalo chips made out of? They seriously look super real!

The buffalo chips are made of foam stuff they use to make props for plays. Who ever molded and painted them did a fantastic job. They do look like the real thing!

What a wonderful idea. I love that it wasn't so hot and that you could enjoy it.

I LOVE the Buffalo Chip Toss!! Coming from a farm background it was just too funny to see. Where did you get the chips? I think I should suggest that game to our ward. I think they would flip! Maybe I should do it just to see, lol.
