Aunt Katie: Part 3

Camping on the Beach...

We drove to Corpus Cristi, TX and camped on the beach at Mustang Island State Park. It was getting dark when we got there so we had to wait until morning to enjoy the beach. It was great to fall asleep listening to the waves. Since we were on the beach I kept waking up because I was dreaming that the tide came in and our tent was getting wet. Fortunately for us it was just a dream and the water didn't get near our tent.

We played on the beach for a couple hours before packing up and heading to our next destination. I hope you enjoy the beach!

We all got up in time for the sunrise. This also shows how close to the water we were.
I love sunrise and sunset pictures!
Bradley and Daniel loved watching the sunrise. (I am training them young to enjoy the finer things in life!)
Daniel was captivated by the waves.

Andy and Aunt Katie went for a run on the beach and found this star fish. It was already dead so it didn't mind that Andy was about to eat it. (No! He didn't really eat it.)

Bradley loved digging in the sand. He took it very seriously.
It was fun to watch the pelicans, or beach masters as we called them, come gliding in over the duns to land and eat some fish.Bradley spilled some goldfish on the ground and the seagulls gathered around looking for free handouts. I told Andy about it when he got back from running and he thought he needed to try it and see if it really worked.
As you can see it did! I finally had to insist that he took them away from the table because they were starting to drop little bombs everywhere.
Playing in the water. Andy reverts back to being a little kid when he gets near water. It is really cute!Bradley loved the waves. He was a little bit nervous at first, but quickly adjusted.
Daniel found his new love...a stick!
Daniel also learned that cooking breakfast with Dad is lots of fun. :)

It wears you out to play in the sand and waves!
This is actually across the street from the USS Lexington, but I thought the shark would go well with the beach pictures. We all had a lot of fun camping on the beach!
