Flowers and Relaxation

April 21, 2014

I decided that our yard needed a little more color, so Nathan, Eliza and I headed to Lowe's to get some flowers.  Then we spent most of the day planting them in the different flower beds.

I killed hundreds of flying termites on this flowerbed before I got started.  I have never seen so many before.  It was a little bit creepy!

These are my pansies from last fall.  They are still alive.
They are ready for some snap drags to join them.

I used the wagon to move the flowers from the front of the house to the back.

More pansies waiting for more flowers to join them.

This is a before shot of the flowerbed on the right side of the deck.

After I got some little snapdragons planted.

I love snapdragons and pansies!

The right side of the deck after we planted flowers.

Nathan and Eliza were playing on the deck while I worked on the planters out back.  Nathan was getting restless so I opened the sliding door and sent him in to get a car or a truck.  A couple minutes passed and he didn't come back, so I went inside to investigate.  It was very quiet so I called his name as I walked in the house.  I heard him say "mom:" and turned to see him standing in the dish strainer on the counter looking out the window.  I hurried over to him and noticed white stuff on his hands and face.  Upon further inspection I realized it was butter!  NICE!

One of the many flowering bushes around our house.  I love springtime!

There are two varieties growing next to each other.  It is really pretty.

This vine was planted a couple years ago and this summer it really blossomed.  We have really enjoyed the flowers.

You can still see the dew on the petals.

Sometimes in the mornings after we drop our brothers off at school we just need to watch a quiet movie so our mom can shower or do dishes or something useful.
Eliza and Nathan relaxing...

These pictures are one night after baths just before scriptures and bed.
I love Nathan's little cheeks in this picture.

A rainy morning after dropping the boys off at school.
It always makes me smile when I find Nathan and Eliza lounging this way.  They actually do it pretty often.

LOVE YOUR BLOG! I can't believe how much the children have grown. You are a good mother to take the time and go on the field trip with Daniel. Good on ya, hope to see you this summer.

I love your beautiful flowers. You'll have to teach me a thing or two. Your kids are too funny. I love the relaxing on the couch.
