Disney Land Part I

We had the opportunity to accompany Andy to the California Dental Convention in Anaheim, CA this month. Since the Air Force was funding his trip the boys and I decided to tag along. All we had to do was purchase Disney Land tickets for Bradley and myself. It turned out to be a wonderful family vacation! Here are some pictures of our first day in the park.
(Warning: This is a VERY long post!)

This is where you would catch the shuttle bus if your hotel wasn't close enough to walk like ours was. We were only a couple of blocks from the entrance.

Waiting in line to get our tickets. I don't know how Bradley stays as healthy as he does. He kept putting everything in or next to his mouth!

Inside Disney Land at last!!!!

The Buzz Lightyear ride...

This was the very first ride we did. There wasn't a line yet so we just walked right on.

They have a laser gun for each person in the cart so that you help Buzz Lightyear defeat

the Evil Emperor Zurg. The cart keeps track of each person's score. At the end of the ride you can see how many points you have. Bradley and Andy were all over the shooting part!

Daniel didn't quite get the whole shooting thing. He just liked to look at all the flashing lights. Part of the time I was shooting his and mine at the same time. You should have seen me with a laser gun in both hands. I was on fire!! When we checked the scores at the end Bradley and Daniel were tied for 3rd, Andy got 2nd, and I had the most points!!

Space Mountain...

Andy really wanted to do Space Mountain and Bradley was just barely tall enough to go with him, so I am the pregnant one I stayed with Daniel.

We decided to check out the arcade right next to the Space Mountain exit while we waited. Daniel had so much fun "driving". It's a good thing he doesn't know he needed some tokens to really drive!

Tea Cups...

We had to do the tea cup ride since that is one of the musts at Disney Land.

The boys had fun even though Andy and I wouldn't let them spin very much.

Sleeping Beauty's Merry-Go-Round...

Since this was their first ride on a merry-go-round Daniel didn't want to ride alone.

Bradley was very excited to be big enough to ride his own horse!

Dumbo the Flying Elephant...

Even though there was a little bit of a line we had to do Dumbo. That is another must at Disney Land. Bradley loved being able to make Dumbo go up and down.

Mr. Toad's Adventure...

There was a pretty good line for the Mr. Toad ride so we just took pictures out side and did Alice in Wonder land and Snow White instead. I love the ones you can just walk onto!

The boys were sure that they needed this little car.

Story Book Land...

This was a fun little boat ride. After we did the boat ride we rode the train. Both go threw the Toy Land part. It was fun to see recreations of the house and towns of the Disney characters.

This is the market place and palace from Aladdin.

Eric's castle from The Little Mermaid.

I just loved all the flowers every where so I had to take pictures of some of them.

Daddy and Daniel on the train.

Bradley and Mommy. Bradley wanted to be in the monkey cage in front of us, but the group ahead of us beat us to it.

I can't remember all the towns but I think this is the one from Pinocchio.
This is one is from Cinderella.

Here is another look with the pumpkin coach on it's way home from the ball.

The middle island is of the three little pigs homes. Starting with the brick house on the left to the straw house on the right.

Another look at the town from Pinocchio.

This one might be from Snow White, but I can't remember for sure.

This shows one of the boats the tour is taken on going past the Aladdin set.

Lunch...

We ate lunch in the Pinocchio village. Thanks again Uncle Sam!

Mark Twain's River Boat...

We were walking by just at they were about to leave, so we jumped on without having to stand in line. It was fun to see the things a long the river and the boys always enjoy a boat ride.

This Indian chief was one of the many things they had to depict what the Mississippi river used to look like. The boys had fun watching for Indians and animals.

Pirates of the Caribbean...

Since there was no line for this ride we decided to try it. We didn't know until the second time we went on it that you aren't supposed to use flash photography on the ride, so it was lucky we took pictures the first time.

As you can see they have added a few things to the ride in the last couple of years. This is Captain Jack Sparrow hiding from the pirates who are looking for him.
The women at the action are the same. Classic!

This is Jack trying to get a look at the map with out being seen. I think the dog has it in for him.

I had to get this one since there are pigs in it.

Another classic pirates shot.
In the end Captian Jack Sparrow finds his treasure and sings to you about really bad eggs as you leave. They did a great job with the ride! It is the only one we did twice.

The talking parrot at the end was Bradley's favorite part. He didn't like any of the rides that were dark after riding Space Mountain with Andy. ( I think Andy was still more tramatized about taking Bradley on Space Mountain than Bradley was though. Andy didn't even enjoy the ride because he was afraid Bradley was going to have a broken neck when they got off!)

Tarsan's Treehouse...

This was a fun one to walk through. There were lots of things for the kids to see and touch.
Crossing to the main part of the house. The boys loved the bridge.

This section had things to make noice like the gorrillas used when trashing the camp.

Bradley was helping to van the flames and the cooking fire.

When you pull on the ropes below these little boxes it sounds like there is a baby gorilla in the box. The boys thought that was very entertaining!
This was a cute water fall as we left Tarsan's house behind to go on...

A Jungle Excursion...
Bradley was so excited to be on another boat ride.

Here we are passing a large tiger and alligator from India.

Then we ran into an Asian elephant family taking their baths.

This elephant likes to splash water jut like Bradley and Daniel during bath time.

We felt bad for these explorers. The gorillas were trashing their camp!

The ride got a little bit rough and dangerous when we ran into the hippos!

At the end of the ride we saw head hunters!

Winnie the Pooh...

After going on the Winnie the Pooh ride we went looking for that silly ol' bear.

We had to wait for a couple of minutes for him to take a water break, but it was worth it.

Bradley was good at making sure we always knew where we were on the map.

Bradley loved seeing all the characters. He would give them hugs and high fives.
Daniel loved them from a distance. He didn't want to get too close!

Eeyore came back with Tigger and Pooh Bear after their water break so we were glad we waited for them. Daniel wasn't too sure about this giant donkey!

Tigger is Daniels favorite, but not if he is as big as Dad!
(Tido, we think you would make a great Tigger!)
Disney's California Adventure...
We decided to check out Disney's Califorina before it closed. We were only there for about 1 1/2 hours. Here are some things we saw.
The music was pretty good, but it was to crouded to see anything from the stroller, so we only stayed for about 5 min.

Muppets in 3D...

Beeker is one of my favorites!

They had us wait in a big room for the show to finish before we went in for the next one. They had props everywhere. We love the Great Gonzo!

To pass the time they had a show on to entertain us. The characters would go between three screens. It was pretty cute the way they did it. The 3D show was good too. Sweetums came to the show in person as well as the two little old criticks. It was lots of fun!!
Monster's Inc...
This was a fun ride and the boys loved spotting Sulley and Mike.

You gotta love the rides you don't have to wait in line for!

We were suprised to find Goofy with only one or two people waiting for pictures. He has since become one of our more favorite characters.

This was at a little Mexican restuarant. The boys loved the playingin the fountain. The food wasn't too bad either!
The Parade...
After dinner we went to get spots for the parade. We were there about 15-20 minutes early and everything was still packed!!

Bradley was very entertaining while we waited for the parade to start.

Daniel loves beautiful flowers just like I do. Especially if his dad makes his finger disappear into the middle of the flowers!

We watched the parade form right next to this statue. It was in the shade so that was good, but there were a lot of people between us and the parade.

This float had Mary Poppins and Bert on it. It turned out good to be back a little since the music was so loud! They have a really good parade. I think the kids enjoyed it as much as we did.

How fun!!!!!! And even more fun if a lot of it was paid because of a business trip!!!

Can we go back to the part where you said something about being pregnant? Did I read that right? :)

Yes we are pregnant. I am due in November. WE should find out what we are having in about a month.

I tried to announce it in our Happy Easter post, but only one person caught it so I thought I had better try again.
