Daniel's last field trip in first grade was to Solite Park near our house. The kids walked on the Tobacco bike trail from the school down to the park. They spend most of the day playing and having lunch. The Icee Truck stopped by and each of the kids got an icee. Since it is so close to us we decided to go meet them at the park. Eliza thought it was too loud and crowded. Nathan thought it was awesome! That is until a couple girls started following him around. They wanted to hold his hand and lead him everywhere. They thought they needed to help him up the stairs and slide down the slide with him. Every time he tried to walk away from them the would corral him and herd him the way they wanted. Finally he sat down so they would let go of him. As soon as they stepped back a little he jumped up and came running to me as fast as he could. I picked him up and asked "Are the girls too much?" He nodded his head and said, "Uh hu."
Daniel waiting in line to do the teeter-tauter.
Nathan riding the elephant.
Eliza tamed it too.
Nathan thought the hoola-hoop looked like fun...
only it doesn't work.
Back to the elephant in the park.
Eliza drew some pictures on the sidewalk. She is more artistic than her brothers.
Nathan found the only puddle in the park to drop rocks and bark in.
Daniel finally got his turn.
This one lifts you really high in the air! They had one of the teachers or a teacher's aid supervising the whole time.
Ready...set...
GO! "Wait I'm not ready!"
As you can see he cheated. :0)
This was a better start.
Daniel was so excited to see us. He was good to follow Nathan and Eliza around and introduce them to his friends. I had to keep reminding him that he could play and didn't need to hang out with Nathan the whole time. Daniel really is a sweet, sensitive boy.
Nathan giving the hoola-hoop another try.
Eliza didn't have much better luck than Nathan did.
She did try hard to shake her hips though.
This slide is super steep. It is hard to tell in the picture, but it is. The kids get cruisin' down this thing!
Daniel trying to be brave enough to brake the sound barrier on the way down.
He made it!
The climbing rock was the cool place to be.
The kids all got really excited when Nathan came around. They would yell at each other and say, "Be careful there is a baby here." Nathan just wanted to be like the big boys.
Daniel is pretty good with the hoola-hoop.
Shake it boy!
Of course there were bubbles!
Trying to keep Nathan out of the bubbles was like...um...really hard!
Zac and Nathan playing Frisbee.
Nathan is getting pretty good at throwing.
Lunch break!
Okay, back to eating.
Daniel looks a little bit big for this whale. What do you think?
A sweet brother sister moment.
I love progression shots.
Can we be done?
Daniel and Nathan
I told Nathan and Eliza it was time to go and Nathan hugged Daniel.
Eliza decided she needed to do the slide as her last favorite thing....or last 5 favorite things. :0)
Nathan getting ready to push Daniel out of the way.
Go Daniel, Go!
Last group hug. We had a lot of fun playing at the park. We are glad we could join Daniel on his last field trip of the year. He did a great job in first grade. Way to go Daniel!

Did I see that park when I was there? If I did, it is a lot more fun filled with kids! I love that your kids love it other! Super fun day!
You have some very silly kids! That is so cute that Daniel was so excited to introduce Eliza and Nathan to everyone. He really is a good boy! :)
Haha, Nathan's facials are so great! He just might be related to one Luke Wilkins that I know . .. especially with the girls chasing him and trying to help him. Your kids are amazing. I love what a sweet brother Daniel is.
