Andy felt like we really needed a piano so he did some looking. We found one on Craig's list for $100. I was a little skeptic because of the price, but we went to see it anyway. It is beautiful and in really good condition. We decided to get it, but because it is so big we had to hire out.
The movers brought it pretty quickly.
It was a lot of hard work for them!
Getting it on the dolly.
Ready to roll.
Nathan and Eliza trying it out.
We had a piano tuner come. He showed us the factory number and we looked it up to see how old our piano is. It was made in 1905. Making it 109 years old. It has become even more precious to me since finding out how old it is. Every time I look at it and think of all the things that have happened in the world since that time I am moved. It is such a beautiful instrument and represents a time when culture was valued much more than today. I am glad we found this piano.
The boys have started lessons and are doing very well. I have also taken up playing a little. I am getting better at the hymns made easy. :0)

Whoa! What a beautiful piano! That makes an excellent addition to your home and, it sounds, to your lifestyle. Beth's going to start giving me a harder time about Craig's List now.
What a nice find! Music in the home is the best so play on.
Awesome that you found such a great deal on a piano! I am a little jealous... :) Don't let Katie teach your kids how to play the piano though, or they may learn to play too robustly for your old piano... ;)
That is a beautiful piano. It makes me wonder what stories it could tell if it could talk. Love husbands who understand the importance of music and musical instruments!!
