Monday morning we headed over to Niagara Falls. (Poor Daniel got sick early in the morning. He was having a hard time keeping anything down.) It was a short drive from Rochester to Buffalo.
Our first look at the falls with Canada in the background.
The sheer force of the water going over the falls is incredible! I couldn't decide which view was my favorite, so I have quite a few. :)
Looking down at a trail you can take up closer to the bottom of the falls. The steps get wet from all the mist of the falls.
Looking across the river to the Canada side. That is where they get on the boats to go to the bottom of the falls.
The gang in front of the falls.
Nathan got his finger squished just before the picture.
Dad, Nathan, Daniel, Bradley, Eliza and Josh in the stroller.
Looking down from the tower at the line to get on the Maid of the Mist. We were super excited to go on the boat.
This is the bridge to cross over to Canada.
In line to get on the boat. Daniel threw up a couple times before we got on the boat. Poor kid!
Dad and Nathan on board.
I just love these two!
These next pictures are the falls from the boat.
This is the falls that we got pictures of from the top.
You wouldn't survive going over the falls right here.
Bradley loved it!
Eliza wasn't sure about all the mist.
This is a place in between some of the falls that you can hike. It is only accessible from the Canadian side.
These are the falls closest to Canada. This is where a school teacher in 1901 went over in a barrel and survived. A seven year old boy was swept over the falls right here after a boating accident in 1960. He had on a simple life jacket and was picked up by a Maid of the Mist boat. He was physically unharmed.
This is where the mist was the heaviest. When you are on top of the boat you get completely soaked! Fortunately we were on the bottom left hand side. That gave us a great view and some protection from all the mist. It was an amazing experience. We were all reminded of the power water has.
Daniel and Dad.
Daniel ended up laying down right there most of the time. He said that even though he didn't feel well he still loved the falls.
Heading back we were looking out at the Canada side. We could see a lot of foam from the falls.
These birds were sunning themselves on this large rock in the middle of the river.
Joshy boy slept through the whole ride.
(7 weeks and 2 days old)
I think Nathan is part monkey. :)
We went past the loading dock and turned to come up facing the falls. The water looked so calm and beautiful. You would never know it was so close to the falls just looking at this picture.
Looking at the dock.
Old Glory was waving to us as we disembarked after our ride.
This is looking back at the bridge that crosses to Canada. You can see the line between the two countries. If you walk out onto the bridge you can stand in two countries at once. :0)
Eliza, Bradley and I went to get a couple more pictures of the falls before heading back to the van to find our dad, Daniel, Nathan and Josh.
From this angle you can see the Horse Shoe falls with a boat hiding in the mist.
That is where the only survivors went over the falls.
This is the falls closest to the U.S.
Looking up river at the water about to go over the falls.

I am glad we stopped to share the majesty and power of the falls with the kids. Even though it was hot everyone really enjoyed it.

Wow! That is a beautiful waterfall! I have always loved waterfalls! You got some great shots and so cool you were able to visit there. So sad Daniel wasn't feeling too well.
Incredible photos! Great job. I didn't realize how expansive Niagara was.
After seeing these pictures, visited Niagara Falls is on my bucket list. I would have loved the mist as much as Bradley.
