Strawberry Patches

Jean's Patch

We heard about this strawberry patch from a friend and decided to check it out.  Daniel and Eliza were good helpers, but we did end up with quite a few green strawberries.

This was Eliza's first picking experience.  She loved to pick them all by herself.  She kept saying "I do it Mom!"

After picking the strawberries the kids found some teeter-tatters to play on while I paid for the strawberries.  They were so cute we had to get some pictures.

Eliza really enjoyed riding with Danie and he did a great job of not being too wild for her.

Waller Family Farms

When we visited the next strawberry patch we took Margaret with us.  The kids love to take her with us places.  It makes things easier on me too.  :)

Eliza did better picking red strawberries this time.  However, she was having a hard time with the don't eat until you pay for them before you eat them.  It is a good thing she is so cute!

Daniel helping Margaret pick strawberries.

The kids took turns taking pictures with the camera of our strawberry picking outing.  This is the most flattering picture they got of me.  Pretty sad for me huh?

Eliza kept running back and forth helping me and then Margaret.

When we were done the kids found this dog.  He belonged to one of the ladies working at the farm.  The kids were so excited to get to pet him.  He was really nice.   We have really enjoyed eating all the fresh strawberries.  We are planning to hit another strawberry patch before the season is over.

These flowers don't really have anything to do with this post, but I am very proud of how they turned out so I had to document them.  For teacher appreciation week the kids were suppose to give their teachers a flower to represent the lessons they learned from the teacher or something like that.  Bradley really wanted to get his teacher a yellow rose, but I wanted to get her something she could keep for a long time.  We went to Michael's and I let the kids pick out the flowers they wanted and the color of smooth rocks to go in the bottom of the vases.

Daniel picked red roses and blue rocks for the librarian Mrs. Souchek.  I added the yellow flowers when we got home because I didn't have any red or blue ribbon.

Bradley picked this yellow rose with pink on the tips of the petals and green rocks for Mrs. G.  It looks and feels so real!  I was really wishing Janna or Mary were here to help me arrange the flowers, but I think they turned out pretty good.  The flowers were a big hit and that made the boys very happy!

What fun to be able to pick strawberries like that! You are looking good by the way. Good to see how big your little ones are getting.
