Duke Gardens with Aunt Andrea

April 27, 2014

We took Aunt Andrea to see the Duke Gardens.  We had never been there on a Sunday before.  It was super busy!  There were people getting pictures all over.  We also saw where a wedding ceremony was being held.

Fountain in center of the gardens.

A close up.   I gave Andrea my camera to get whatever pictures she wanted.

Nathan, Mom and Bradley

The water was higher than we have ever seen it before.  Usually the water line is only to the rocks just off the bank surrounded by water.

Daniel looking at a school of catfish.  They were so close to the shore.  The kids kept putting their hands in and touching the catfish.  They were super excited.

Some of the catfish

Nathan, Daniel and Bradley looking for more fish!

A look at the famous Red Bridge from across the pond.

This dragon fly was just hovering in the air.  He held still long enough for Andrea to snap a couple pictures.

The kids enjoyed jumping from rock to rock and Nathan thought he needed to  as well.
Notice the yellow film on the edge of the pond.  It is the pine tree pollen that plagues us for about 6 weeks in the spring.

We saw several turtle hanging around the pond.

Andrea in the forest of bamboo.

Mom's turn...

We found a wild little monkey!

No, it's over there!

There are really three!

Daniel was our stroller driver for a while.

One of the paths was close off and these Canada geese were enjoying the quiet.

Some "Tyler" shots taken by Andrea.

I love this one of Eliza.
Andrea is pretty good at what she does! :0)

I love the pansy planter.  I want on of these in my yard.

Blue berries that aren't too blue yet.

Baby oranges.

Daniel on "his" throne

Andrea was trying to stage some pictures with red and Daniel photo bombed her.

That's more what she was going for.

This is where the wedding ceremony was scheduled to be held.  Too bad there weren't any lily pads on the pond.  We did see a couple frogs and some big coy.

Nathan and Daniel looking for fish.

Andrea playing with a reflection shot.

Bradley found a snail that was highly entertaining.

A couple coy.

Nathan joined in for a group shot.

It was pretty hot and we were ready to go after about an hour.

Eliza couldn't be left out.
The Duke Gardens are beautiful and we are so glad we were able to share them with our favorite Aunt Andrea.

I don't remember going to Duke Gardens when I was there... Duke plantations I think... That is a nice place and you got some great shots! I would say I want to come visit you, but I think you will be moved by the time I would get a chance to get back there...

Wow, those are beautiful gardens. If you can't get married in the Temple, that is as good a place as any. :)
