We hadn't been in Utah for long before Grandpa had a big project going. We were lucky enough to get in on the action!
We had to re document the green house for all those out of state people. It looked really good when we got here. It has seen better days though. Too much wind!!
Grandpa's big project was to replace the propane tank in the back yard. He decided to go with a different company. Aunt Lauren's younger brother was one of the guys who came to swap out the tanks.
Grandpa borrowed a boom truck from the Uncles to move the tank. Here they have the chains hooked up and we're ready for lift off!
Lift off has been achieved!
Bradley, Eliza, Nathan and Daniel were the official supervisors!
They did a great job!
The tank raising to new heights.
Almost high enough to clear the lilacs.
It was about this point that the men helping Grandpa started yelling "Stop! Stop! The truck is tipping!" He readjusted a couple things and they were good to go again.
Unfortunately they forgot to tie a rope to the tank so they could guide it, so they had to us a pole.
The tank clearing the bee shed.
It reminded me of a submarine.
Guiding it in for landing.
"A little more to the South Grandpa."
Coming in for landing.
We have touch down!
Unhooking the old tank.
Grandpa did a great job driving the boom truck.
The lilacs looked lonely with out a tank in front of them.
Dropping the new tank off the trailer so they can hook it up and move it out!
Getting ready...
They leveled out ground and checked the attachments before swinging the new tank into place.
"Houston, we have lift off."
This time they remembered to use a guide rope.
Commencing course over the lilacs.
Preparing for final dissent.
Coming in for landing.
They stopped just short of landing to make sure the support blocks were in the right place.
Leveling the last one...
Touch down at last!
Hooking things up. They hooked a line up to the old tank to get the propane out of it before the company came to pick it up.
The final resting place. I think the 500 gal. tank looks much better in the yard than the 1000 gal tank did. The project was a success and no lilacs were harmed in the moving of these tanks!
That afternoon Grandpa snuggled Nathan and gave him his bottle. He was very successful with this project too!
